Troy Murphy appreciation thread.
I may not have many words of appreciation, but some may.
Guy seemed like a decent guy with a good head on his shoulders and a good attitude. I liked the idea (in theory) of having a guy that had some of Dirk's skillset coming in to train the team to work with Dirk, so we'd be able to add Dirk smoothly.
Instead we got a guy that did almost nothing for us. He played hard. He tried to rebound. He just hurt us a lot. Experiment failed. Now let's move on. We just gotta let the offense come and the players play like we did in the first five games. Play more Wright (particularly at PF) and we'' stop the 3-8 skid.

Played hard, tried hard.
Cant blame him. I prefer him to be cutted over Roddy or Wright. With Dirks return Murphy would be useless anyway.
Now move Roddy to SG fulltime

He seems like a good teammate and I think he did try most of the time to produce when he was on the floor, but it just wasn't working. His shots weren't falling, his defense was bad, he fouled a lot because of it and his rebounding wasn't anything worth talking about.
Hopefully this means the team and Carlisle still have confidence in Wright and we see more of him from now on, i hate those lineups with Marion as a PF and Brand/Kaman at center.

It seems like more than a few fans would be delighted if Wright moved to pf and Roddy moved to sg.
Murphy tried, but it never worked. He just doesn't really have it anymore.

Is Troy Murphy the fella that posts on here? Either way good luck to you in your future endeavors. Whether it be on here or on the court elsewhere or both. Live the dream ya know?!

It's all about the Benjamin's with the Mavs these days.

Cuban has found himself on a high dollar poker table even he can't afford to be at. New CBA has basically widened the gap between the haves and have nots because only the big markets can afford to go over the cap.

But we are a big market and few franchises have team+stadium shares.

He tried hard but he hurted the Mavs more than he helped, so good move.
Still, good luck somewhere!

He was a very, very good player in his prime, i mean, 14/12 with 45% 3 point shooting, on 4 attemps a game is no joke. Unfortunately he was not that player anymore. He gave his best effort, and we thank him for that, good luck Troy.

The game against the Cavs, where each 3 he hit gave us the lead.
I wish him well.

In 10/11 when Dirk initially f'd up his knee, I actually wrote on this board that Murphy would be the perfect fill-in until Dirk recovered.
I do believe he was unjustly ridiculed.

All the best Troy. I hope you enjoyed your short stint in Dallas despite experiencing more loses than wins.
