That is the question. He was awsome when he played, but did he play long enough to get in the HALL OF FAME??????

I think it will be close- real close. Gale Sayers made it, he didnt play that long either. Because of that, I say he gets in...

He will probably get in but you raise the right questions.

Does 2,000 yards get you in? If so, yes. Other than that, he was only dominant for two of seven years.

Personally, so few players have gotten 2,000 yards, I am inclined to say that he should get in.

the 2 year span in which he was healthy he had something like 3800 yards and 47 touchdowns.

incredible.

if he was able to stay healthy, he would have been a true force.

I think he should make it for the fact that in his first four years NO ONE has gained the yards he has in the same span. (Actually I think Earl Campbell did but I'm not sure about that). In that period he was NFL MVP, Superbowl MVP, won two rings.

The only thing I think Sayers has over Davis was the fact that Sayers was he came and did something that no running back was doing. Davis was the best but did nothing to make him unique.

For instance when we talk about Barry and Emmitt, they were head and shoulders above the rest of the backs during the 90's. (With the exception of Thurman Thomas) The ONE year that he was able to do that was the 2,000 yard mark but I don't think one year can put ANYONE in the hall of fame. I think he should go in, but I'm not sure if he'll make it. Atleast not on his first try.
