Mavs just have too much on offense for most teams. I mean, when hot, the Mavs will be up by twenty on you in what seems like a split second.

Good win overall, could have been easier but ok. Those quickly given up points in the fourth are meeehhh, but didn't hurt today.

Glad we finally closed it out. Really nothing to say other than this was Rondo's game. Nelson and Wright looked horrible.
Yay Houston's gonna lose too. And Thunder are locked in a tight one with Washington.

Over 0.700 and about to grab that 4th place from Houston as soon as their game ends

Wright has been just awful for them so far. Score one for Carlisle knowing how to get the most out of him.
And score 100 for the front office in pulling a magic act to get Rondo.

I had family obligations at a birthday party. Kept looking at my box score on my phone. My eyebrows raised every time I saw Rondo's line.

Too much offense (109.9 PF)
...and solid defense.
102.6 PA is IMO very misleading, because we usually pull our starters and let the other teams pad their stats in garbage time. Today was a perfect example.

Noticed that the guys we traded away for Rondo combined for 11 points. So basically Rondo almost tripled them. Yeah, trade is looking good today (as we passed Houston in the standings).

So.....we've quietly moved past Houston and are a 1/2 game behind Memphis . . ..who is losing to LAL. We might wake up tomorrow and be in first place in the SW. Just sayin'.

I can see a bright future for Mavs & Rondo
Doesn't this just feed into the reputation that Rondo shows up for the big moments? This has been an awesome season so far and it's only going to get better.
Rondo for pennies. Defensive improvement. Stepping up in the big moments.
Awesome

I also noticed Wright is struggling for them. Clearly we knew how to make use of his one true skill, jumping. Maybe Boston should release him and the Mavs can resign him. He knows he's got a role he can play here.

What I am really liking about Rondo's Mavs is the way they respond when teams make runs. There is less panic and fewer stretches of consecutive missed threes that usually help the opposition. Normally, when we come back for the 2nd half with a big lead, we blow it immediately, and have dogfight ahead. This game, and to an extent against a much better Washington team, we played the 2nd half with focus.
Even when Boston made its runs, there was little sense that the Mavs would not strike back. In the 3rd quarter, when Boston got within 7, Dallas missed a shot. Dirk fought for the rebound, then missed a three. We got another OFFFENSIVE rebound that led to a Rondo bounce pass for a Tyson layup...he missed but was fouled and made both. Then we get a stop, then Tyson grabs a 3rd straight offensive rebound and the lead goes right back up to 11, and from there all the way up to 28. In that run, we missed a lot of shots, but our rotations were tight, so we challenged every shot and fought for every rebound. Impressive.
As a result, Hollinger has us third in his ratings, which are freakishly based on point differential. He loves blowouts, and we are delivering some for a change, instead of giving back leads and struggling at the end. I know his system is whack...it has the Rox at 14. But he's giving us the 4th best chance to win the championship, so its at least worth a mention.

Yep... Every team is going to have shooting slumps, but defense and rebounding can weather those storms.

This could be great for the Mavs. Wright's value could drop drastically making him a potential realistic off-season target for the Mavs.
One of those guys like Chandler, Barea and Harris who fits perfectly with the Mavs moreso than other teams.

Or maybe he is depressed and uninterested in performing for a team that lacks talent. Poor guy.

He's barely had any minutes and guys haven't found any fluidity after being traded. They aren't walking into a well oiled machine like dallas. Also wright needs a pnr partner to be truly effective, and I would imagine that taking time with a brand new team with young pieces.

What a game!!!
After Rondo made the first basket, I thought this could be a great game for him.
But hitting the first six shots was amazing.
If that's the much talked about playoff Rondo, we are in for a treat in may.
Great game from the Mavs, especially the first and third quarter looked great on both ends of the floor.

Just a dominating performance. Of course it was against his old team so there was a little extra ooph there
WTF were our ex-players doing out there? I only noticied Crowder and that was because he was hustling his butt off as usual

Well. . . . Memphis lost. 1/2 game behind the three seed. Let's beat a Lebron-less Cavs team tomorrow and get that three seed.

Perfect example of why there is no reasons to freak out about who has the best record in November and December. The only team that doesn't look to be slowing down anytime soon is GS.

I would like to finish in the top three. Maybe we catch Golden State. I think we could catch Portland.

Sorry. Last day of my vacation and I slept in a bit. Plus, I'm an hour ahead of Dallas time.
Still, 10-1 GDTs.
