AVG by grisoft gives you 2 years free. You could try that for a few years.

I personally use the one that anyone attached to my university gets a free license for.

AVG works well, as does another one I've been working with lately called BitDefender. It's very thorough and customizable.

The only one I've tried is PC-Cillin.
It seems to have some problems.
