Default PGT: Mavs take care of Lakers, go 2-0 in LA b2b

Our bigs dominated with Gasol and Kaman sidelined:

Dirk: 27 points (11-14), 9 rebounds, 5 assists in 33 minutes... #11 all-time scoring!
Wright: 23 points (10-10), 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal in 27 minutes.
Sammy: 14 points (6-9), 14 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal in 21 minutes.
Matrix: 15 points (7-14), 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal in 31 minutes.

BWright is the man. Put 10 more pounds of muscle on him and work his post defense all offseason.

It was a MUST WIN and the Mavs locked it down.

GO MAVS!

Glad our starters and Wright could take care of business on the offensive end, because the rest of our bench (VC/Devin/Jae/Ellington) combined to shoot 3-21 (all 3 made by Harris).

That last rebound that Crowder just HAD to have was about to go to Dirk and wouldve given him his 10th rebound of the night...

Wins or not I am getting worried about Monta shooting. Last 5 games shooting 34%. It would be in the 20% if not for his 11-23 against GS. Something to watch out for down the stretch. He's settling more lately imo

True, but he's also averaging 7.4 assists per game over the same stretch... At least he's been smart enough to switch gears once he realizes his shot is cold.

But he HAS to keep shooting because he's our second-best scorer.

No more back 2 backs. Best part about beating bad record teams. When the role players put in best numbers. Good job for Wright. Now to get ready against Sacramento. They always want to pester us...

Wright was so impressive tonight, 10/10 from the field! If he ever learns how to rebound he can be a really good big man in this league. Sam was solid, Dirk was Dirk.

On to the next one

Incidentally, Nash with 7 assists in 19 minutes, pulls to within 4 assists (10,330) of Mark Jackson (10,334) for 3rd All Time Assists.

Hope he gets to play another game or two and take the Bronze.

records.....

Dirk's 27 points increased his career total to 26,778, putting him in 11th place and within 32 of Oscar Robertson.

Dallas F Shawn Marion recorded his 1,725th career steal, breaking a tie with Magic Johnson for 17th place, when he intercepted a pass by Wesley Johnson with 3:02 left in the first quarter.

Vince Carter, who was 0 for 8 from 3-point range, needs one more 3-pointer to become the seventh player in NBA history to make at least 1,800.
