As I said, I couldn't see the 'punch'. But, if he did indeed 'punch' Finley, it was one of the most idiotic things that a player has done in the DFW area in a long time. Apparently, if this is true, his basketball IQ still isn't where it needs to be.

I agree with the suspension, it is consistent with the Reggie Evans punishment. And the NBA office is always consistent.

okay so now what?
Harris starts at the PG, who starts at SG, Griff?
Quis is the backup PG now and Griff is the backup SG?

I'm betting it'll be Diop, Dirk, Howard, Stack and Harris doing battle out there to begin the game. Other guys must step up.

with Quis being the backup PG and Griffin being the backup SG I guess... and KVH will now actually/most likely have to play....
here's to 6 fouls in 2 minutes

Cuban says "yes he was suspended, and it is bullshit" according to The Ticket.
apparently Finley threw a hip at him first.

Spurstalk.com has like 6 pages on this topic already
what's up with that? is there another Dallas Mavs board with more fans that post on it?

Honestly, Terry wasn't playing well anyway, with the exception of that one game.

103.3 just confirmed that this show is still going to happen...I am curious to see the replay. Unfortunately, my recording of the game cut off b4 that happened.

Is he healthy enough to play? If so, then yes. If nothing else, he can spell Harris when he is not in the game.

Wow, the officiating in game 5, now this. Wow, the NBA really wants to give this series to the Spurs don't they?

I'm inclined to think Terry was responding to something -- it looked like Finley landed right on his head and perhaps it was a reaction to that, so I reserve the right to change my upon seeing the film.....
...but WTF was Terry doing, thinking, etc.??? How friggin' brainless do you have to be to throw a punch in game 5 of a best of 7 knowing the consequences?
Has Terry ever done anything like this before? Has he ever had a history of such flighty behavior?

I went back and watched the play...I still don't see anything deserving of a suspension. However, you cannot give the league an excuse to suspend you.

i don't see hopw the nba has any ground to stand on on this. evans had a full out brokeback grab on kaman's junk. and he just gets fined.
maybe because evans' was done with love?
also, it looked like fin dove onto terry's head in that play.

Well...Terry was stupid for losing his cool..but, hmmm.... this stinks of something that I do not want to get into or accuse the league of doing.
I'm disappointed in JET for putting the Mavs in this situation...

I've only seen it live, but it looked to me like Finley landed on his head while he was trying to call a time out and Terry was pushing him off of his head. Is that what you're seeing?

Jackson just announced that upon further review one of the flagrants Dirk picked up in the Memphis series was a flagrant two and Dirk will serve his suspension for game 6 as well.
