GDT: Mavs (13-8) at Grizz (6-15) 7:00pm
Will the Mavs roll over again or get their revenge?
Mavs rolled to victory in the first meeting and Luka had 35-12-12
Last game Luka was out for the birth of his child and it was only through big games for Kyrie and GWill that we even kept it close (16-8 for Williams, Kyrie 10-5-5).
Both Kyrie and GWill will be out this game.
Injuries
Kyrie, Williams, Green, and Kleber all out

Mavs - Grizzlies preview
1st game of rough 5 games in a week stretch, not in a good time for injury riddled Mavericks.
3 of those 5 are against contenders (Lakers, Wolves, Nuggets)...so even more important to take care of business vs similar or even more depleted Memphis.
Dallas failed to do so last time (in Game 18 vs MEM) which was one of more disappointing Ls.
Mavs were without Luka, THJ, Maxi and Exum then, this time without Kyrie, Grant, Green, Maxi. Grizzlies missing Ja, Smart, Adams, Clarke, Kennard.
Interestingly MEM is only 1-9 at home
For Grizzlies things mostly stayed the same since last game in terms of rotation & play style
They still start: Rose, Bane, Roddy, JJJ and Biyombo
And play big mostly (with Biyombo or Aldama next to JJJ) and defend well, but are very limited offensively.

Yeah but our FO prioritized depth and it's paying off now. I don't always agree with that method, but no team survives the injury bug.

Exum and Hardy played well.
Hardy not so much down the stretch.
I missed the DJJ injury
Good win cause the next 3 are going to be rough to watch.

I know it?s a small sample size, but Lawson is making more and more expendable. Besides the fact that he has been cheeks this season.

Again, injuries just means we get to see more guys we want to see. As long as we can eek out some wins in the coming games, then count me in watching Hardy, Lawson, and Omax.

DJJ seemed minor
Kidd said if they needed him, he could come back.
Questionable for tomorrow so he may even play vs Lakers

I want that defense, reboundinf and overall grit. They were physical with us and got away with a lot of bullshit but we responded well.
Luka and Morris had extra chips. Luka is always gonna talk and back it up too. Morris hit somw clutch 3s, played gritty defense and grabbed a cpl key rebounds.
There was no shrinkage from the physical play that we have seen before here.
The only complaint i have is DP is playing too many fn mins and should NOT be ahead of Holmes.

The other good thing is Harris is already more enjoyable than Derek Harper, by a lot.

I think you are referring to Green and I agree.
If we can move Green and Hardy for a starting caliber wing, Lawson is a guy we can develop to eventually fill the void of Green.
I like to see Prosper get some good burn because he is a key piece to our future. He has all of the physical attributes we need.

Morris had some timely 3s and of course his size is a benefit for us. Wouldnt mind having him out there every game for a spell
Omax is promising, I cant wait to see what he becomes.
I really think Hardy/Green could net us a starting forward.
Also, Grant should be coming off the bench when he returns...keep Exum out there

Lively continues to impress. He is much further along than i could have ever imagined. He is also mostly staying out of foul trouble, which was a concern before the season began.
Exum is filling a critical role with the tools to be a two-way PG as needed. He can penetrate the defense, distribute the ball, find a way to be open for a jumper, and plays good defense. An amazing pick-up and another surprise contributor.
Morris is a much needed physical presence and can hit from beyond the arc on occasion. He should get some regular minutes.
Great to see OMAX contribute and hope that is something we can count on.
I am not feeling the same love for Lawson. He is contributing for an end of the bench guy, but he tends to take long jumpers and miss. His FG% is 39% and 3ptFG% is 21%. Maybe he develops, but I am not sold yet on him getting more minutes. But then again, pretty good for a two-way contract guy.
Powell continues to be Powell.
Holmes must be in the Kidd dog house. McGee all over again?

I'm wondering if Kidd kept Holmes out of the game to save him for AD.

I don't think Lawson has some high ceiling or anything, but you know what kind of player he is. And he enables you to shop Green who I don't really see as much better at this point. Plus, the rise of Omax makes shopping Green all the more logical.
I'm more hesitant to trade Hardy with Kyrie always seeming to have an issue. Same with THJ being hurt. Need that scoring insurance.
I'd look for a decent trade that is Green, Holmes, two seconds for a need.
