Going through this situation with Doc i'm curious to whether the intelligent Doc is the only poster who has a problem with me or are there others. I make a lot of grammar mistakes. I'm the first to admit that. I disagree with alot of people on this site. I'm the first to admit that. I'm just curious to any poster who feels I don't contribute to this site or they feel I should leave the site. I'm not sure if this is appropiate to post on this board but I figured what a better way to see is Doc the only poster on this site who has a problem with me. Feel free to go all out. My feelings won't be hurt. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

Hopefully this will make me a better poster on this site.

BTW, Doc I already know your opinion about me so there is no need to even post in this thread. We all know that it is going to end up being locked.

When you talk Mavs, I think you contribute. We have disagreed in the Mavs forum but it was pretty much just two people having different views. Your problem is that you can't understand rational explanation or that you just choose to disregard facts. If you would just say, "I don't get it" or somesuch, I'd be happy to explain in pm or whatever. Your fixation with posting after me though is somewhat disturbing. Anyways, when you post in the Mavs forum, you occassionally contribute, when you post in the NBA section you provide a big bag of nothing.

There is the olive branch. Take it or leave it....those are the facts.

I have enjoyed your posts on this site for quite a while. Basically since you got over your Finley sensitivity. You have not developed a thick skin about Carter yet which makes it tough to debate you in the Cowboy threads.

Boy was it hard to get over the Finley thing on this site. Lol, I don't feel I have any sensitivity towards Carter but I can see why people would think that because I defend him so much.

The key to a successful site is for the veteran posters to act like a functional family. There will be times that you disagree but have the argument for a couple of days and then let it go. The argument will still be there in a couple of months and both of you will acquire new ammunition to start it anew. But these situations that drag on for weeks and weeks just wear EVERYONE out. And I'm sure that everyone hates it when there are multiple threads with folks fighting the same battle.

Lets keep the board a functional family. Have your fights but keep them short and in one thread. That way there isn't a suggestion of bad blood.

I've enjoyed your posts, I've enjoyed conversations with you.

The only thing I have a problem with is name calling, and it's not a shot at you at all
I know everyone does it, so i don't really hold it against people, nor do i let it be the deciding factor in what i think about a person...i'd just like to see it kept to a minimum. Disagreements? Sure
go for your life...arguements plus! Petty name calling and general nastiness is
just annoying when it's all engulfing, as it has a tendancy to become.
Now i'm just ranting, I think MFFL summed up what I mean in his "fuctional family"bit.

Do like I just started doing, post your case and then don't post in it again. It's not worth your time to argue with someone on a message board. The MFFL method is a pretty good one to follow as well.

Aight thats fine. I'll try to keep my insults to a minimum as much as possible. Its just those damn Cowboys. I don't know what I am going to do if the Mavs end up being a bad team again.

Yep, as mentioned in another thread, the Houston Texans are my team(there's a longer story behind that).

afroman is right though. you do tend to get stubborn on certain issues, not that being stubborn is bad. it does begin to be a bit annoying when there are several posters that are stubborn (chiwas vs murphy and kg, you vs drbio) and won't let an argument die because they always have to get the last word, but that's a whole nother issue. (and yes i realize nother isn't a word, but it should be!)

anyways, while i am here, let me say that a poster's grammar and his ability to talk about sports intelligently are not always connected. i pride myself on my grammar (yes, i am a dork), but i couldn't post intelligently about football because i know very little about it. now that i am talking about my obsession with grammar... ok, it is 'a lot.' two words. 'alot' is not a word. and please, please, please know the difference between there, their and they're, as well as the proper uses of two, too, and to. oh, and its vs it's is another common mistake. these problems definitely do not just apply to ffm; i have seen them across the board. i am not going to hold it against you if you have bad grammar, but i just thought i would put it out there because it is one of my pet peeves.

No problem but I do think that MFFL's posts are worth re-reading. They're very on point.
When you and I have disagreed, we've found a way to stay friendly...and that says a lot.
But the whole thing with Doc did devolve into a lot of silliness...it just didn't seem like you.
I'm guessing that's why you started this thread so I'll address it directly.
The tenor of your posts surprised me...Just my honest opinion.

I like your posting. Many times I agree with you, but I also like your way of posting even when I don't agree (very few times). It's readable, clear I think, to the point most times, maybe I could say "gentle".

About the family thing, personally this kind of reminds me of my family. May sound cliche, but we put the 'fun' in 'disfunctional.'

FFM, i think you are a good poster and do bring good things to the site. but i will be honest as well (and this goes for everyone)...

if we would just take more time to actually READ the post we are replying to, alot of these debates wouldn't even start. you may find that you and doc actually agree on a lot of the cowboy QB debate (that hutch sucks for example), but you seem to see carter's name and immediately defend him likes he's your dad...

also, one thing i always hate to see in posts is crying foul about race ("you don't like him because he's black, white, hispanic, whatever").

at times, you're one of the best b'ball posters on this site. i hate to see the racism card played unless there's absolutely no doubt that it is the case.

you add alot to the board at times. I also feel that our PM's have cleared up alot of things that have gone on around the board between me and other people.

you've got some serious potential to be one of the better b'ball posters on this site..

I have no problem with any poster. Some I like better than others. It's the ups and downs of the boards, you may feel like a whipping boy one day, but sooner, rather than later, one of us will say something that riles u the board and then the heat will be taken off of you.

I always enjoy reading your posts in the Mav's section. I don't recall reading the asian height thing, so can't comment on that.

But you are a very valuable addition to this board. I don't have a problem with any of the posters on this site (except for Way Out West's racist comments yesterday, and the CONSTANT name calling in your and Doc's threads).

I love each and every one of you posters in a non man-love/commitment love kind of love way.
