Default The major point pro Trade

we turned Raef and trash into Walker a 3 time all-star p/f. Its really simple, who wouldn't make that move? All this chemistry stuff is b.s. . . . NVE was supposed to be a problem, so was Hardaway ect. The bottom line is when the time comes we can fill the whole in at center who will net us a better player . . . Walker or Raef. . . not to mention Walker does bring to the table elements that were missing from the Mavs . . . our players are more athletic, our players are better rebounders, are players are younger, are players taller, and are players are marginally better defenders. Furethermore the arguement that we have a "logjam" at p/f is inherently flawed. Walker can play 3 positions, Jamison can play 2, and Dirk can play 3 as well . . .where is the logjam? The only thing that hasn't gone our way this offseason is the signing of a 30 + year old center who hasn't had a productive season in the NBA for 2 years. ALL YOU PEOPLE WHO KNOCK WALKER AND SAY THE EAST MAKES HIM LOOK BETTER, doesn't that same arguement cross aply to Mourning? Isn't Mourning and undersized center? Can Mourning gaurd Shaq? probobly not, I like this trade for 3reasons. . . it makes us significantly better talent wise, it makes us more versatile (who would of thunk it?), and it give us Major Trade Fodder for when the next big trade happens. Just like the Jamison trade did, just like the NVE, Raef trade did, just like the Howard trade did, just like the Hardawaytrade did . . . and try not to overlook, we had a better record each year, and advanced further and further in the playoffs.

Default RE: The major point pro Trade

Walker is not a bad defender. In fact, until K-Mart killed him in a couple of playoff games last year, he was known as a decent defender. Anyone who says that the Walker\Reaf trade did not benifit the Mavs is an idiot. If Walker creates on court issues due to not being able to shoot as much as he likes, we have a problem. But if he grasps the Point Forward position & embraces it & cuts way back on his shots while adding some assist & boards, thats great, but if he does not, he will still produce more for us than Reaf would have. Big for small does not really play in this argument for two reasons. 1.) There is only a two inch differance and 2.) Walker is as much of a center as Reaf is. Neither are centers. Both are forwards. On top of all of this (most importantly IMO), The Mavs got rid of the worst contract in the NBA for a contract that expires at the end of next season at the worst (He could opt out at seasons end). And finaly, we got Tony Delk who many Kings fans refer to as "A poor mans NVE" he lit it up a few times as a King & has lit the Kings up a few times since he left.
