I saw this posted on another board, and was surprised to see it.
Portland can actually come out ok, by just letting Rasheed walk at the end of this year. there cap situation will be pretty good if they do it.
2003-2004 36 Million (Kemp, and Wallace)
2004-2995 16 Million (Stoudamire)
If they want they could just try to build around Wallace through the draft and free agency.
I would have never guessed Portland was in this kind of cap situation. That may be the best offer considering what they would get for him. If I was GM I might go that route.
Well they do get cap space, and the opportunuty for huge capspace the year after. So it boils down to do you to pick your options via free agency or do you think you can get more in return in a trade. After all look at the trades being thrown out there. If they take the likes of Jameson, and Najera plus filler locked down at 20Million per year for the next several years.
I think you might get more on the open market. You also have more options.
