I think it's been discussed before, but what happened to this team?

I didn't think trading Kidd would cause this type of downfall. Sure, it would hurt trading away one of THE best pg's in the league, but I didn't predict this kind of fall.

Do you think they trade Marion before he can bolt? I do.

Just so you know how bad it's going for them, there down 12 points (I think) to Denver at the half right now.

No doubt Marbury is no where near the level of Kidd, but I cannot believe one player could take that team in the complete oposite direction.

Didn't realize Marbury was having ankle problems too.

Suns coach says Marbury will have surgery

ESPN.com news services

Phoenix Suns coach Frank Johnson said Stephon Marbury will need surgery on his sore left ankle, The Arizona Republic reported.

Marbury, who has been bothered by the injury all season, said he will wait until the Suns finish the season before having the surgery.

"I'm playing," Marbury told The Arizona Republic. "I'm going to wait until after the season. I'm going to play 82 games."

The star guard came off the bench Saturday and had 23 points and nine assists in a 108-104 loss to the Timberwolves.

"I think there are some spurs," he said. "They just need to clean it out."

The Nuggets beat the Suns tonight 98-94. Sad, very sad.

I see Donnell Harvey had 15pts and 10rbs to go along with 2blks.

Also, Kenny Satterfield has been getting some playing time and hasn't done too bad either.

July 19, 2001 Acquired forwards Jud Buechler and John Wallace from the Detroit Pistons for forward Cliff Robinson

J. Buechler averages 9 minutes a game and averages 1.0 point and 1.3 rebounds (in 6 games)

J. Wallace averages 10.7 minutes a game and averages 5.1 points and 1.9 rebounds (in 44 games)

C. Robinson averages 35.8 minutes a game and averages 14.4 points and 3.8 rebounds (in 77 games)

When you rub players noses in the fact that winning is not important that saving money is - what motivation is there to perform?

Guess it depends on the player, but pride for their game should be motivation enough.

But if ownership doesn't have a committment to winning, then how can the players? The tone set by the head of an organization is always reflected by his employees.

This was completely different than not acquiring a free agent because of budget restraints. The Suns traded a very good player for financial reasons not basketball reasons.

Marbury is a cancer. Plain and simple. That is what happened to the suns.

You guys make very good points, it just seems like you'd try to make the best of a bad situation.

Any team that employs Starbury will not win.
