Yeah because of last night we can just forget the fact that Dirk has taken his team further in the playoffs than nash has.

Rediculous. They both are two of the top stars in the league. Love the analysis that came with your post. Moron.

Dirk and Nash are both stars and it is ashame either one had to lose last night. This is all a tune up for the playoffs. I do not fear Phx at all in the playoffs and it is possible they could have the best record. They are a great regular season team because of Nash.
He has no center, so he will have a early exit in the playoffs. Dangerous playoff teams are SA, Dallas, Miami, Detroit, Utah, Chicago because they are big and physical and can play defense. Run and gun is the most excitting but in the playoffs it is losing basketball.
Last night i enjoyed watching two stars play an excitting game but i wanted Dallas to win. Alot of our defense was gone when Dampier and Howard fouled out. I will say this, i am amazed at a guy that can't jump, is little, not a good defender, and is old and he is unstoppable in Steve Nash. He has one of the biggest hearts i have seen in sports. He might be one of the smartest basketball players to ever play the game also. He is a midget to Shaq or a center and how he can go inside and score over or around guys like that, i haven't a clue but he does.

Body of work
One NBA Finals appearence. Two record this season, and three record on the season series. Dirk hits the shot at the end of the game are you crying about the game. Yes, Lebron misses a million shots at the end of games so he isn't a superstar.
Overreacting NBA fans priceless.

It took your overrated 2 time MVP 2 overtimes to beat us, and we still won the series. 8-4 in the last twelve is still in the "owned" sector.
Plus we killed Miami in the regular season last season and look what they did. We'll see how much Nashy and them who play 60 mpg feel during the second and third? rounds.

we also lost to San Antonio in the mid-March measuring stick be-all, end-all regular season game last season. games such as these are super-duper all important, for about a night.

He was just too upset by the loss. He had very high expectations of Dirk and was really frustrated after the game. Poor troll, don't cry, your superstar will give you another award.

I'm glad at least that this turned out to be a post by a visiting troll rather than a hands-wringing Mavs fan. Just for the record, judgments about who is or isn't a "superstar" are purely arbitrary, subjective crap with no consistent criteria. They're just a way for ignorant people to support their groundless, fan-based opinions.

I, unlike many Mavs fans, actually like Nash & his game. That said, it's not contest.
Dirk right now is the best player in the NBA. Nash is only (and arguably) the best PG in the NBA.

Their stats were virtually identical, yet Dirk is not a superstar? The only award I want Dirk to have is a World Championship award. Nash can have all the MVP titles..

Seriously - you gt be joking. Dirk got a whole 1 min 13 secs of rest, 58 secs of that in the first quarter - and since the mavs were so much behind it took a shitload of energy to get back and score at 30+ a quarter. Lets not forget the mavs aren't built for that pace. Is it really that surprising they didn't finish too well? The first quarter kinda broke their neck- i mean sure they came back but it cost them in the end. if they would have played their game and not played the suns fast paced game they prolly would have blown the suns to pieces and most definetly not have given up a 10 point lead in the final few minutes.
I hate that ppl only talk about the last minute of the game - it is just as important as any other minute. does anyone really think that the suns would have come back if the mavs had a 25-30 point lead after the third which they could have had if it wasnt for the first quarter
7 turnovers and 5 of 18 shooting is easily a HORRIBLE quarter.
the last quarter wasnt great - but 7-19 and 4 turnovers (2 offensive fouls one shotclock)
isnt that horrible.
And just about dirk: after that energy to get back into the game - there were a whole 5 points (of 20) in the 4th quarter where he wasn't the one scoring or giving the assist.
nash was dead in the overtime-it was all stoudamire (13 of 18 points)
just the numbers in overtime:
nash:
1 in 5 shooting (2 blocked), 2 assists, 1 TO and 1-1 FT made
Dirk:
2 in 5 shooting ,4 rebounds, 1TO
and that after he was mudwrestling the big guys of the suns all night while nash as PG didnt get much contact.
Seriously - If anyone made a push for MVP it'd be stoudamire.

Let's see:
Mavs have a 2-1 series advantage over the Suns thus far. Also a 2.5 game lead (excluding the Sun's loss to the Pistons tonight) in the west.
Nash also has another All-Star: Amare Stoudemire who helped in the Sun's victory with 40 points.
But I'm sure you're right, Nash is obviously the better player...

Watched the phoenix game again. Don't have much of a problem with it either way. Wish dirk/josh had hit their fts...but again as I looked at it the mavs battled their asses off with quite a bit of adversity from our friends.
I do believe that the dirkster is going to need to control himself like he said cubes should do, as down the stretch he did not get a call one. Nor did the mavs really. They fought through that as well and had a chance to tie it in the second overtime.
Phoenix can suck it.

it's all opinion on who is better. they are both superstars. they both have stats to back them up. i enjoy watching both of them. they are both amazing in their own ways. The mavs did not play very well part of the game, that's why they lost.
