I heard about this yesterday...and was a bit confused why a former QB would turn down and O.C. job at a pretty decent school for a RB coach position...but then again it is his alma mater...

but oh well..always a fan favorite...

That's great, always liked that kid. Thought it a tragedy that his career ended so soon.

As we've seen playing quarterback is more about leadership and decision-making than physical talent. (Not discounting physical talent).

If someone could find a way to measure the ability to make quick decisions while 400 pound gorillas are descending upon you to rip your testicles out and squash them like grapes, you'd make a fortune.

The alma mater factor is a big part of it. The more significant thing, IMO, is that they are essentially grooming Major to be the next OC when Greg Davis retires in a few years, then, eventually, he'll hopefully take over as head coach when Mack becomes the Athletic Director.

Sort of a Jason Garrett-esque situation.

His career ended early because of the phenom named CHRIS SIMMS.

Greg Davis needs to retire now. Freaking VY extended his career 5 years. I cannot believe he won OC of the year two years ago.

He is terrible.
