Default The media we want or the media we have.

So here's an article about up and coming stars in the NBA. Emphasis mine.

Dirk Nowitzki is the big name on the Dallas Mavericks, but Josh Howard scores almost as many points and is a better defender and PASSER

Holy Mackeral...a better passer!! Even a cursory look at the stat sheet shows a small-forward that only averages 2 apg. If he actually ever watched josh he would see that he is one of the MOST non-passers I may have ever seen playing basketball. The national writer may actually be a thing of the past.

That's the rare case of simply making stuff up. Usually blatant mistakes like that come from only looking at stats or having too small a sample size becuase they just watch 2-3 games of a team. But it's impossible to watch even one quarter of Mavs ball and think that JHo has any idea how to include teammates. He has no timing, no vision, no anticipation for passing. Not even the simple ones which you would think he could pick up from repetition or watching other basketball games are ever on time. They're always one or two beats too late and the opportunity to create a scoring chance is gone.

Basketball doesn't have a counterpart for Goose Gosselin, that's for sure.

That quote shows not only a lack of knowledge that:
a) Josn in not a great passer
b) Dirk is turning himself into one.

I wonder if this guy has watched a single Mavs game all year.

Sports novels for kids?

Anyway, Josh's passing ability is only even average in one area, and that's when he's standing still in the halfcourt. He can't pass off the dribble (half or full court), and he doesn't look to pass either. That's a combination that makes for a bad passer.

the media always goes on kicks like this. they have to say something new so the hot thing to say now is that josh is actually the mavs best player. which is flat out stupid. We saw what happened when avery tried to make josh the focal point early.

Josh Howard will never be a Super Star. (Pains me to say that) But he is consistent. You can always count on Josh to make big plays, both Offensively and Defensively.
He always come into games ready to play from jump.
Josh Howard can play his best game and have 30, 10 and 5 steals. But if dirk puts up 50, Howards hard work will be second in headlines. That is how it is. The scoring is what people look at. Jordans History spreads with great scoring games, several in a loosing effort.

Xpert, is that you?

We can count on Josh Howard to score most of his points in the first half - and he's often very good in the first half.

We can count on him to fall off the face of the earth in the second half, especially offensively. You can't make big plays, if youi're blending in with the paint on the floor.

The only thing that I know that I can count on, is the Josh Howard will almost never, ever, pass out of a fastbreak.

If you've got a list of examples where the Mavs have "counted" on JHO to make "big" plays, I'd love to hear them.

And yes, I received your PM request for fellatio...sorry buddy...I can't help you there. But hey, you've got the internet at your fingertips, so I'm sure you'll figure something out sooner or later.

I wish you lots of luck in your future endeavors.
