Playoffs GDT: NBA Finals, Game 4, 6/7/2011, 8:00 pm Central (ABC)
Well, here we are. Not since Game 5 against the Blazers have we had our backs against the wall to this extent. Game 3 hurt, no question. But the realistic goal coming home was to win 2/3 here and go back to Miami with two chances for the trophy. That scenario is still in play.
So to anyone that jumped ship after Sunday night, to anyone too scared or scarred to continue this amazing journey, I say GTFO. NOW. This is no time for fear or apprehension. Our team is still standing, still fighting, and still in position to fulfill their (and our) dreams.
Let's effing do this.

Well, didn't get to the phone booth in time.
(I didn't see the "who starts" thread until about 5 secs ago.)
This game is going to be super tough. Mavs have to find a way to not play "uphill".... and grab a lead in the second half...

Jump on them early and never let up. I'd love a WTF kind of blowout thrown into this series since it's been so close.
Jet has been stopped in the 4th of both games we lost so he needs to put his money where his mouth is.

That's the attitude! Everyone's writing us off... again.
After we blew the lead against Portland, they said we were done, that we could never shed off the softness label. We proved them wrong. Even when we were up 3-0 against LA, people doubted us and claimed that the Lakers would achieve a historic comeback. When we lost a game against OKC, we were written off as the next stepping stone in the legacy of the young run and guns of Westbrook and Durant. And lastly, when the Mavs lost game 1 against the Heat, people started predicting a sweep.
Our team will prove them wrong. Again.

Boy...it is sure hard to be optimistic after reading time and time again over the past few days that Dirk simply doesn't have any help...I hope he has thrown some chairs at Terry, Marion, Peja and Kidd during the past few days - telling them it's now or never...because he does have help. They just absolutely need to break out of their funk and fear and face their giants...
Miami really can care less if they win this year or not...Oh..yes, they'll be happy about it, and be obnoxious about it, but they know that if they don't win this year, they have at least 4 or 5 years of championships ahead of them, especially after they re-vamp their roster. You know that they are going to go after/draft/trade for point guards and centers during the off-season and will be successfull at it.
The Mavs have to win it now...Kidd may be gone, Chandler could go to Miami (who knows - just throwing that out there) for vet minimum...Barea and Butler may go somewhere else bigger role or payday...Many things can change in the offseason on the blink of an eye.
Do it Mavs...give it all you got, and if you show us that you tried your best (and that the refs won't screw it up) - I'll be proud of you.
If you fold like a cheap set of chairs like you did in 2006, I'll probably be away from this game for a while.

Things I want to see:
1. Dirk shooting early and often
2. The Mavs attacking the rim
3. Peja and Barea playing less than 10 minutes

I think hearing again and again that Dirk has no help should be motivation enough for all his teammates to step it up and proof those experts wrong.
I hope Peja and Barea play more than 10 minutes and proof all those doubter here wrong too. 5 of 5 3-pointers from the Serb, 5 of 5 successful drives to the hoop from JJ would be nice.
GO MAVS!!!

I just don't want to ever see Peja guarding Diva Wade or Ledouche again.

They were 0-2 in 2006 and won title. We are 1-2, and you're crying?
Destroy them or die, win it now Mavs !!!
No rest, just FIGHT !!!
FIGHT Kidd or go retire without title !!!
FIGHT Dirk or forever they will call you soft !!!
This is our time, DO IT !!!

Exactly! Can anyone total up the amount of minutes we have even been ahead in this series? It can't be that long. Anytime we get a 8-9 pt lead, we can never push it over the edge and make the Heat have an uphill climb. Those 8-9 pt leads turn into 14-15 pt deficits and pretty quick. It gets sickening to watch.
And I want to see Dirk play well over 40 minutes. I'm tired of seeing him sit on the bench early and they still have their 3 main guys on the floor and we got nothing.

Go Mavs!!!!!
Please Rick, play JKidd for at least 38 minutes tonight. He can rest next week!!
And ... please get Dirk involved early in the game. This is one game where he needs to shoot more.
And for the love of all that is good and holy, please rebound!
Go Mavs!!!!!

We can play Peja but why not put him in the game whenever the heat have an offensive-less center like Anthony or Howard?

But it does prove my point that we can not hold leads for shit, or build on them. That has to change tonight. We can not keep using all our energy just to hang around in the games.

This. The playing from behind, because of the turnovers largely, is what's doing them in. You can't expect a miracle at the end like we've seen in the last two every time. At some point Miami will flop their way to a solid finish.

We have to see if Dirk can play over 40 minutes, if we can give up less than 10 turnovers, and win the rebounding war.
This is my recipe for success.
