Pierce due to explode, and the Celtics got to play D the way they have all season. Should be a more competitve game tonight.

Boston winning with defense and rebounding. Hopefully the Mavs can play like that next year when the shots just don't fall.

JKidd made another triple-double (23 pts, 10 assts, 16 rebounds), and almost saved the Nets all by himself.
Tony Battie was a beast down the stretch.

Good grief, Boston got the win, but Pierce was 3-20 and Walker was 11-32.
OUCH!

That is about the 3rd game in the Eastern Conference Playoffs that was just a joke.
I watched most of it, and frankly the D was not that good.
The 2 best players for the Celtics went 14/52 or about 27% for the game. You do that in the West you lose.
Do it in the East it wins you a conference finals game.

i listened to the game online, from the boston side. and even they kept marveling at how pierce and walker were just not making any shot at all and the Celts were still winning big.
were both teams just missing open shots though? the FG%s were pretty atrocious.

No there was some defense being played in that game. Actually it was a pretty physical game, the reason why Pierce and Walker missed so many shots is because they took so many bad shots. Walker finally got wise and started taking shots inside the paint in the 3rd and 4th quarter.
Personally I thought it was a good game, the Nets made it interesting down the stretch. Kidd single handedly got them back in the game when I thought it was over.

11-32 is about normal for Antoine Walker, isn't it?

LOL, though you are not that far off.
11/32= 35%, he shot 39% for the year. Not a huge difference.

I think if Pierce was a little more selective with his shots he would shoot pretty close to 50%.
I can't see walker ever being selective with his shots.

That really sucks: 3-for-20, I wont blame Dirk for his 9-for-28 game anymore! And 11-for-20 freethrows for an allstar-shooter is kind of bad!

And Walker always has numbers like Dirk has in those very few bad games!
