Yeah..I realize this won't be popular, but having a Ian appreciation thread before one for Haywood is idiotic. Haywood was disappointing, but he was still an important rotation player on a championship team.
See ya, Big Wood. You're an awesome interview, wish you'd performed better this past year.

Hey, that primal yell can not be quantitatively measured. Without it, the Mavs would not have gotten pumped up enough to win the Championship.

Good will wished for Big Wood.
If only his heart matched his intelligence he would be a top tier Center.

Thanks for everything you achieved in your time here, Haywood.
You may have frustrated us at times last season, but which player hasn't frustrated their fans at one point of time?

Could have a future in broadcasting, actually - he's a really intelligent guy.

Absolutely. It would be a waste if he doesn't go into broadcasting.

Doesn't that preclude him from being an NBA broadcaster?

He could always be a fantasy football analyst. He loved talking about that after games....
He's the last piece of the 09-10 Wizards deal that was still on board. I don't know what to make of the fact that all three guys are already gone.

Good one on one defender when the matchup was right. Good at avoiding free throws. Generally stayed healthy. Good at interviews.
That's about it. I won't miss the lazy jogs, the 2 rebound nights, the bricktastic free throws and the random every other game one-dribble 12 feet jumpers. I won't miss his Tyson resigning blocking contract and his future strain on Cuban's bank account.
Hopefully, the last of the overpaid centers.
I do wish him well with his next team as a Maverick champion.

I will not miss "Hack a Haywood". Our new center is better at free throws, so that is a win.

Thanks for the Championship run. He was a big part in there defending especially Aldridge and Bynum.
Good luck!

I'd feel a lot worse about it if the best outgoing player in that trade hadn't been Drew Gooden.
Sorry, JHo.

I wonder if Miami would make a run at him if he clears waivers. That's a significant cut in pay for Wood, but I think he'd look hard at that.

I'd love to see another mediocre ex-Mavericks center act as a wet blanket for Chris Bosh in a Finals loss again...

Wait, this is a Brendan Haywood APPRECIATION thread? Oops.
(although guys who get amnestied are rarely appreciated...)

Thanks Big Wood for being a Mav, and being a champ. You had your moments. Wish I could remember some.

Cuban just gift wrapped a nice package for whoever wins the waiver battle. Haywood for $2million per? Pshhhh.
Watch OKC pick him up after noone under the cap bids. I don't know if the apron is applicable this year or not, but I think OKC is below it. You want to compete with that team only deeper?

Haywood isn't going to put anybody over the top. If he somehow lands in the laps of OKC, LAL, or SAS, well... they were better than us before they acquired him. I doubt that happens though... someone will claim him. They can offer the minimum salary!

If the "nice package" was Haywood, there is a pretty good chance that it was on fire, on the doorstep, with Cubes and Donnie giggling in the bushes waiting for someone to answer the door.

Best of luck with the Bobcats. You'll look like a star next to Diop.
Thanks for what you did do for the Mavs, though-you had your spurts of good play.
