Excited to see DSJ vs Fox. Should be a good matchup.

Not if we play Powell and Dirk the entire game. Smith is pretty quick, but quick guards like Schroeder and Fox will carve us up without help defense down low. Dirk is just too damn slow and Powell is just too damn soft and uninterested to help.

Should be interesting -- Fox had a pretty good debut as well.

I expect a bounce back game from Barnes. Only once last year did he have back to back poor shooting performances. Game 11-12 when we were without Dwill JJ and Dirk.

I assume no Harris (his brother died in a crash yesterday) or Curry today.

Curry is considered day-to-day and has been putting up shots, but is unlikely to play.
Harris will be out as long as he needs to be. Mavs have chosen not to make a formal statement or to set a date for his return according to Sneed.
McRoberts also inactive.
Unfortunately, Clavell and Motley are inactive, though.

So heartbreaking... Harris is such a good dude, I hate that this happened to him.

@espn_macmahon: Rockets PG Chris Paul will sit out Saturday against the Mavs due to his bruised left knee. It's the second straight game Paul will miss.
LOL, looks like CP3 is terrified of being posterized by a rook.

Now he can do it to Harden so no worries.

DSJ plays it cool, but you know he's gotta have a little chip on his shoulder about being picked after so many guys in the draft.

DSJ is sneaky about the way he goes about his business. He wouldn't own fox with flash but with smarts. It really does separate him from someone like Derrick Rose who bulled his way to the rim. Smith does it with saavy. I just like to point these things out because the comparisons are always made between him and Rose/Davis. Smith is a bit different.

His pace and understanding of flow for a 19 year old in the NBA is nothing short of amazing. I really can't remember a PG this athletic/ young/ polished/ full of potential straight out of the draft. Maybe CP3 but he didn't have the hops. Maybe Dame Lillard, but he was already 22.

Earl K. Sneed @EarlKSneed -
Rick Carlisle says Devin Harris will not be at @AACenter tonight, and he expects Gian Clavell to be active for the @dallasmavs. #DALvsSAC

Guess not...
@espn_macmahon: Dennis Smith Jr. (left knee effusion) is out tonight against the Kings. He was a late scratch.
@BallinWithBryan: It’s not ideal, obviously. Will have to see what further insight is provided. This is the same knee he injured in high school.
@espn_macmahon: Rookie Gian Clavell, who has a two-way contract, will be active for the Mavs.

I'd rather they err on the side of caution... guess we're in full blown tank mode this season.

@bobbykaralla: Mavs starters: Barea, Matthews, Barnes, Dirk, and Noel.
Silver lining? This lineup would have killed if DSJ was playing...
