Myth: Palin can shoot ping pong balls out of her vagina and into a regulation basketball basket from half court.
Fact: She can handle the distance but her accuracy isn't really that good.

If I was a woman I'd be able to shoot pingpong balls through a hoop from half court.

Here's a non-myth about Palin: I'd bang her.

These juvenile responses is proof as to why Sarah Palin is unelectable.
No doubt she is a very smart leader who has some strong family values. Her family is about as All-American as it gets, and yet as a public, there is this green light to crack jokes.
I'm amazed that more women, regardless of how they feel about her political views, don't come to her defense. We see that routinely she is treated with little class and basically objectified due to her attractiveness.
No doubt this shows the immaturity that some have.
And we wonder why our political system is screwed up...
On a daily basis, Biden/Obama show that Sarah Palin is more qualified and experienced to handle the job in D.C. than they are!

With the exception of the first one, those aren't myths; those are opinions.

Right. We routinely hear "opinions" quoted as common wisdom, as if they are irrefutable.

Personally, I'd go with none of the above if it came down to Obama-Biden/Palin.

What happens if "none of the above" wins? Are we then governed by an empty room? Would that be better?

I might just turn out to vote for an empty room. It's pretty ridiculous that the Spectacle has spewed forth actors, and now reality TV stars, as political candidates and people don't seem to get it yet. While you're engaging in rhetoric and arguing over who should be the actor/talking-head to lead you (cue sheep sounds), you are being looted blind. Now that's willful ignorance.
The same exact policies enacted for the past 80 years, pushing towards a neo-liberal magnum opus, are finally showing their faces... and most Americans are too stupid to understand what's happening. It's like the Jonestown followers arguing over which flavor of Kool-Aid they want to drink. Both parties take their marching orders from the same people who are economically destroying this country.
The same exact agenda of destabilizing a country has unfolded here before, with Europe fomenting the Civil War with massive amounts of treasure. Lincoln, despite his warts, understood what was happening... and he was taken out for it. The same can be said for Kennedy and his decision to get out of Vietnam. If we actually had a president who opposed the oligarchy, they would be dispatched accordingly.
I don't pretend to have the answers for anyone other than myself. Polarizing oneself over what amounts to a drawn-out episode of TV drama just seems asinine to me. There will always be those who choose the bread and circuses over working their asses off to experience at least some modicum of liberty. I guess that it's just going to take a jackboot in the throat, or a routine strip-search before boarding a plane for them to lose their illusions and start creating space for a more abundant and prosperous reality.

You do have to wonder: If she were President, how many lawmakers and world leaders would be unable to concentrate when talking to her because of they shared LDub's sentiments?

She would single-handedly set back the woman's movement 100 years if she were elected President.
She is not even that attractive. For a mother of six(?) slash psuedo-politician, sure. But as a bombshell, she's not making anybody hesitate on their jobs.

All context, bro. When you're by far the most attractive woman in a room, you will distract the men, even if you're only a 6 on an absolute scale.

There may be some hyperbole there but I think because half of her fame and press is about her looks vs. her credentials, which remains as void as ever. Just look at this thread. Nobody takes her seriously as a politician or as a leader but as a piece of milfy ass? Sure! Unless things change alot, if she were to be elected, I believe it would promote or re-enforce the belief women get to where they are via self-promotion (creating controversy) and physical beauty rather than the gray stuff between their ears.
I am not big on politics in general so I can't produce a long list of more qualified candidates but as far as the process of evening the field, getting someone like Condi Rice into the White House, for example, would increase the chances of getting more smart and credential/accomplishment-based women into prominent lawmaking positions than electing Palin.
I may be completely wrong. Maybe just getting the first one in the door is all that counts.
But I may be completely right. Has the leadership at the state positions in Alaska shifted more female post-Palin? (small sample I know but what else do we have?).

In fairness, I'm decidedly immature (purposefully) and not representative of most people or even "the thread."

Just a question? (not a rip at you rabbit)
Can you give me one name of a person who is qualified to be Commander in Chief of the US Military and President of the United States : since Dwight David Eisenhower?
Reported Ties???
JFK - organized crime
LBJ - big money, Vietnam, CIA coverups
Nixon - tricky dicky - need I say more, Watergate
Ford - not even elected by the people
Carter - buffoon -- left hostages in Iran
Reagan - good actor - Iran Contra
Bush Sr - liar
Clinton - impeachment, liar, murderer, Travelgate, White Water, Bin Laden
Bush Jr - war monger, from family of professional politicians, 911
Obama - Chicago mafia, may not even be a US citizen
Can you tell me which one of the ELITE gentlemen was in any way qualified to take control of the US Military machine and become the Commander in Chief?
Anyone think any of these guys is that much better than an ex- Beauty Pageant winner who lives in Alaska. (I am not sure she or any one else could be any worse than what we have had already.)
I mean -- I am so impressed with the system we have here in America that the best we can do is elect people based on "promises they can't keep", how cute they look on TV, and how we should vote because some news bunch tries to get more viewers by selling the DIRT.
Just a FYI -- why is Palin still in the news? Like her or dislike her -- to me it is much like Mike Fisher getting his own thread --- WHY???? Just not that important and not that much news.

Let me understand this. When McCain/Palin were running against Obama, he had less experience in public office than she had (significantly less) and you say HER credentials are void?
And you're saying that if she got elected it would be because she is pretty? Is there a more overt discrimination statement than that? Condi Rice is probably smarter than anyone that has run in the last 50 years. That's a pretty high bar to set in order for a woman to be elected, higher than it has been for any man to be elected. And how smart is Obama? He hasn't really done anything right in office. He's upset most that elected him to begin with and he sets a new record for umms and uhhhs everytime he speaks.
