PG Rockets@Mavs: 9-0 and counting...
9-0 streak against the Rockets
IMPORTANT WIN
Almost p****d it away again
Notes:
Feed the damn ball to Dirk!!!!!
Iso Mayo in crunchtime sucks. dribble dribble drive slide TO/brick....
Carter with the brain award tonight. Terrible halfcourt TO and straight fouls Harden during a three
Marion with a great game except FT-line. Pwned Parson.
Brand rock-solid, highlight block against Harden

Too much "bad Carter" again as well.
Brand is back to being a VERY solid contributor. I love what I'm seeing from that guy.

Mavs run their entire offense through still not 100% Dirk down the stretch.
Mavs fans demand more Dirk.

Dirk has got to roll on the PnR sometimes. I am pretty sure that will help in late game execution. Some back door cuts from other teammates would help to.
The Mavs should also send some flowers to Lin/Harden for all those missed free throws in the 4th.

Brand and Mayo finding some consistency , that is good news
Mayo 9-8-4 assists in last three games
Brand 9-6-10 rebounds in last three games

On other news: Great frontcourt production from Dirk, Marion, Brand and you might even add Crwoder. Mayos shot was off but liked that he went to the line instead. Add eight assists. Grand.

OJ had a terrible shooting night (3-14), but had a very solid game otherwise: 18pts, 12-13fts, 6rebs, 8ast, 2st, 1bs, and ONLY 2 TOs.

Loved mayos game outside if his shot being off. That said mayo, James, Vince and dc combined to go 8/38 shooting

What i liked tonight
- Brand on the floor in crunchtime (great defense. Thx god we use him now)
- Carter on the bench in crunch time (this guy cost us ton of games lately)
- Dirk being able to find his rhythm in crunch time (thx Mike James for some brilliant drive and dish passes)

To say that Carter has single-handedly cost the team "a lot of games lately" is an absolute lie. You win as a team, you lose as a team. He has not cost us any games himself. That's ridiculous.

i did not watch most of the game, but mike james has the highest +/- for the game, and dished out 5 dimes in 17 mins.
what did i miss?

+/- from a single game is utterly worthless in evaluating how someone played.

I'm not sure about the +/- but he delivered on time on the money passes.
He was put in to replace collison because Lin was bending collison over his knee.
Man that sure was a bitch flop by Lin on that strip, that I would fine.

If you're talking about the strip from James, replays showed that he was clearly fouled.

If Lin and Harden got fined for every flop, they would have to declare bankruptcy by season's end...

Pretty much hit the nail on the head. James was miles ahead of DC defensively there down the stretch. And I'm not so sure coach would trust DC to run any sort of PnR game with Nowitzki down the stretch (tho James didn't execute well at all on that front himself, he certainly seemed to settle the team down a bit to try to run through Dirk at least).

He was garbage in the first half but the team was +8 anyway because Houston was just turning the ball over at an alarming rate.
Second half he got to abuse the Rockets D-League call up (Beverly) with some nice drive and dishes to Dirk/Crowder. Overall I though he played well, but he reminds of another guard they have on this team who is 13 years younger.

Without Dirk, we lose this game by 15. James made that nice pass to Dirk in the corner and then he thought he's Steve Nash. Apart from Dirk we don't seem to have anyone who can make those big shots under pressure.

Mayo will make his share of "big" shots. Not sure he can "create" them, but given the shot, he can make it.

He cant create....how many times you saw him this season in crunchtime dribbling, getting stuck, fumbling etc.
I prefer him in the Jason Terry role in crunchtime...

That doesn't discount his hitting several big shots already this season.

if Houston didn't miss so many uncontested layups or Harden shoots 40%, the Mavs lose by 15 with Dirk.

OJ's all around game is improving.
4 games back of 8th seed. More than 40 games remaining. Looks like we'll probably make the race a close run, maybe even decided on the last day of the season.

Pick and Rolling Dirk with Mike James is...well it's not a very sound strategy. It makes it all the more worse that he was being guarded by Carlos freaking Delfino down the stretch. Just give him the damn ball in the mid or high post. Why are we PnRing with Mike James so that Lin can go 8 feet under the screen and dare Mike James to shoot a terrible shot? Why? Why? Why?
Why is a terrible Mike James playing down the stretch just because Collison picked up a couple fouls? Why is it ok when players blow right by Mike James but not when it happens to Darren Collison?
I don't think I've ever been this frustrated after a win.

Correct me if I'm thinking of a different Mike James, but isn't pretty much ANY shot a bad shot for Mike James? That dude just doesn't need to shoot the ball...its an offense to not only my eye balls, but to good shooters everywhere.

Carlisle really needs to stop jerking the kid around. Its going to retard the poor kid and stump any chance this team has to get the most out of him.

Collison stunk defensively in the fourth, he deserved benching. We lose this game if he stays in.
