GDT- Lakers@Mavs
Los Angeles Lakers at Dallas Mavericks preview
10:28 PM CDT on Monday, March 17, 2008
By EDDIE SEFKO / The Dallas Morning News
esefko@dallasnews.com
Who's hot? Kobe Bryant
As always, it seems like he's rolling into a game against the Mavericks. He's had 31 points or more in the last three games, although he needed 33 shots to get 31 against Houston on Sunday. Before that, he hit 22-of-43 shots in games against Toronto and New Orleans. ... Lamar Odom had 17 points and 11 rebounds at Houston, but he was a non-factor in the Lakers' overtime win over the Mavs in LA earlier this month. ... Jason Terry's shooting has perked up of late, and he was 5-of-10 against Miami on Sunday. ... Forwards Josh Howard and Dirk Nowitzki were a combined 14-of-25 from the field against the Heat. ... Brandon Bass has been sizzling of late, averaging 14.3 points and hitting 20-of-26 shots in the last three games.
Who's not? Derek Fisher
After a productive stretch, he's hit just 6-of-19 from the field in the last two games. That may be bad news for the Mavericks, who have a way of stepping into punches in the form of players like Fisher coming up with massive games. ... The Lakers are 0-2 since Pau Gasol went out with a left ankle sprain. They also are 20-10 since Andrew Bynum went out with a left knee injury.
Injuries
Mavericks: None.
Lakers: Gasol (left ankle), Bynum (left knee), Trevor Ariza (right foot) and Chris Mihm (right ankle) are out.

Can't wait for this game. With the Spurs losing last night the race is really tightening up. We need to win these three tough games at home. Starting tonight, Mavs 101 Lakers 92

Winning tonight is a huge step towards the number one seed which the Mavs have a great chance of reaching. Hey, the Rox gotta lose someday you know.

Mavs lash, lather, leather, lick and lay to rest any hopes of the lake-show that they should even be on the same floor..... Mavs 110-94.

Let's try to hold Kobe to under 20 FTA, and we could have a chance.

Is this game not on Cable or Dish or anything? I have Dish and can't find it. They're showing hockey or something on FSN and TNT has Rockets/Celtics.
How can this game not be on TV??????????????

We don't realize it's the Lakers instead of the crappy teams we've been playing lately and we blow them out anyway. Mavs by +15.

I guess I should of specified I'm not in Dallas I'm in Lubbock. Never heard of KTXA 21. But about 3/4th of the games are on FSN/TNT, and I'm shocked this one isn't.

hehe, yeah I know but usually the only games that aren't on tv are games like Mavs vs Clippers or Mavs vs Bucks. Strange for them to skip Mavs/Lakers.

www.mavs.com says the tv info right there on the front page. You don't even have to scroll anywhere. Every single game day. Since the beginning of time.

In the spirit of dude's post...It is ludicrous to logicalize the laggard lake-show as little more than losers to our Mavs later tonight.
Mavs 103-89

Mavs win 103-92. Dirk scores 29 and grabs 9 rebs. Kobe draws two techs and is ejected with less than a minute left in the game.

This is a must win for the Mavs. If they had Gasol, I would be more lenient, but this is a Bynum-less, Gasol-less Lakers team, who before the trade was not so dominant.

easiest game against a #2. their active roster is worse than what we played last year, ours is quite a bit better they will be slaughtered on the boards without gasol and bynum (odom isnt big/strong enough vs bass/dirk/damp). i want to see howard defend kobe like battier did (of course the refs at houston didnt whistle every bodycontact and kobe settled for jumpers (which he isnt all that great at). I hope the mavs will get good officiating (and by that i mean that kobe shouldnt get to the line whenever someone breathes on him) tonight. If that all works out i see the lakers blown out by halftime (kobe ain't that great in the first half and the mavs have been red hot in there lately).
