And that is why you don't offer max to a guy who has injury issues.
Even 13-17 would be too much for him when injured, but goodness-- 23 for a guy who hasn't played more than 69 games a season since 2013-2014

Free agent center Kendrick Perkins, a 13-year NBA veteran, has agreed to a deal to join the Cleveland Cavaliers-affiliated Canton Charge of the NBA’s G League, league sources tell ESPN. Perkins had the opportunity to start a professional coaching career with the Cavaliers, but is determined to return to the league as a player. In a text message on Monday, he told ESPN.com: “I’m serious and I’m committed to this (opportunity). I will sacrifice to show the NBA.” – v

He was a decent double-double guy for a few years and stuck around the league for 12 years
On the other hand, his fundamentals aren't terribly great, so not sure why people would want him to coach. His entire game was strength and effort, rather than boxing out and timing.

Wow, Grizz just waived their first round pick from the 2016 draft. Wade Baldwin picked 17. Isn't he the second first round pick from that draft waived this summer? Either way, that was an awful draft class with some terrible scouting.

Two first-rounders waived AND three overseas-- probably to never be seen again. Overall number one hasn't even played a regular season game as well.
2016 was truly an awful draft.

Pj Dozier signs two way contract with the Thunder. Good for him.

Always liked the kid. He's raw as heck, but that defense was solid (although fundamentally a little reckless). His shooting was incredibly streaky and only ended up 36.8%/33.3% overall
Maybe his sub-par shooting will be a bonus on a volume shooting team like OKC

Damn, was hoping he'd fall to the Legends, but knew he was too good not to get a 2-way.

Not that I hate Jeff Withey or anything but ugh, Missing out on Dozier for Withey makes me really really sad.

I kinda feel the same way now that Dozier signed w/ OKC. I think Withey can be a useful player for us this year bc I expect Mejri to be moved at some point, but I think Dozier was a good player to hang on to with our youth movement.

Yeah, but we pretty much have to collect bigs with Noel's future up in the air... Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Powell and/or Mejri end up on the block.

Also Dirk, Noel, and Mejri are injury magnets
Matthews, Barnes, and DFS (who play Dozier’s position) are Iron men

Withey is 500% more likely to play than Dozier
Withey is a serviceable third stringer playing behind two injury-prone guys in Dirk and Noel
Dozier is a defensive wing who doesn’t have great handles nor a good jumper

Once two-way contracts are signed, are they set in stone? My inclination was to give Motley the last roster spot, and free up the two-way spot for Dozier for the upside he and Clavell may provide. I do understand the reasons why they'd like to keep Withey around. And truth be told, he looked decent for what he is going to be to this team. Tough decisions, and wish nothing but the best for Dozier. He should have stayed one more year in college, however.

Nope. Two-way deals are fluid for the team holding the contract. For instance, we could waive a player like McRoberts and upgrade Motley or Clavell's contracts to a full NBA contract. Another team cannot sign those two since they are on a Mavericks contract. The only thing team have to have is room on their 15-man roster to do so. Players are usually given minimum contracts, but after two years on a two-way, players can get early-bird rights after finishing their second year.
Once Dozier signs his two-way contract with OKC, we can't offer him a contract (two-way or normal NBA), because he'll be under contract with OKC.

Sources: Bulls forwards Bobby Portis and Nikola Mirotic were involved in serious altercation in practice today, leaving Mirotic hospitalized and out indefinitely. Story coming.

Holy crap.
Some people are saying Portis broke Mirotic's nose and he's getting screened for head trauma/concussion.
Geez. That team went from decent to jailblazers almost overnight.

The destruction path that follows Rondo continues. Depleted Mavs assets, within a year boogie gets traded for pennies on the dollar, and Chicago passed on DSJ for Markk and now they are brawling in their own locker room. Chicago gets double punishment because they also have bad karma from signing wade. New Orleans is a ticking time bomb.

10 minutes into the NBA season and Hayward is out with one of the nastiest injuries I've seen in basketball.

I think that college kid and Paul George was worse, at least for a spectator.
Anyway, horrible for him, the team, the East.
