Official GDT: Mavs vs Suns (2:30CT)
Soo I did the Cavs game last Sunday and it didnt go too well.
This is a big game and one that could possibly seal a playoff spot for this team. All I know is its going to be a good game. Soo enjoy and hopefully the Mavs get this one.
GO MAVS

Go Mavs! Very important game. If we win and simultaneously Utah and Portland lose... well, that would be perfect.

Great. Mavs are going to get blown out, all thanks to AxdemxO
On a serious note, I think this is THE game of the season for Mavs. If they don't come out with a sense of urgency and don't hustle, this team doesn't really deserve the fans support. I think in order for them to win, the following things need to happen:
1) JHo needs to play. They need his points. period.
2) JET needs to get his head out of his ass and play like the JET we know. I know the hand might be bothering him but he can't settle for 67% of his shots being threes
3) Kidd needs to provide some offense. His assists are great, as is his defense and clutch steals, but if he can't make a layup there is no point to all the other things
4) Wright needs to grow a brain and stop shooting those damn threes. His defense is great and will be very much needed today against JRich, but he needs to provide some points and not by shooting threes but by attacking the basket or shooting within his range
Hopefully all goes well and come out with a much needed win. Go Mavs!

5) Erick has to shut up Shaq from Minute 1. Maybe we can pull again the Hollins-card with Shaq, that worked damn well the last game when Shaq was too slow to stop 3 easy baskets from Hollins.
Totally agree with Wright and almost all of his Threes are the totally open ones. He just suck and should drive drive drive and play good D against JRich.

Suns - 116
I was joking with this post, but the final score really wasn't too far off the mark (considering average NBA scores...)
[...and the right team won!]

Since it worked, you have to keep doing this for every game from here on out. Hopefully Shaggy doesn't hunt you down and kill you before the playoffs are over.

I am going to watch spurs-cavs and the mavs game at a reasonable time in Germany. What a great Sunday.
I expect playoff atmosphere. Dirk has to go off for X number of points (being one more than the suns score).
Seriously though...can anyone else contribute to carrying the scoring load?! Defense...intensity...anyone??? If I dont see them fighting like crazy, hustle, diving for lose balls...well,I'll be pissed.

Suns-Mavericks Preview
By ANTHONY GIORNALISTA, STATS Senior Writer
Posted Apr 4 2009 2:40PM
The Dallas Mavericks have given Phoenix a reasonable chance to make a last-ditched run at the postseason. The Suns' most significant barrier might be their problems on the road.
All of the disappointing losses the Mavericks have suffered recently won't matter much if they win Sunday against a Phoenix team which is the only one capable of catching them for the Western Conference's final playoff spot.
With Dallas' 107-102 loss to lowly Memphis on Friday night and Phoenix's 139-111 win over Sacramento the same evening, the ninth-place Suns (42-34) moved within three games of the Mavericks (45-31) in the race for eighth place in the West.
Each team has six games left and if Dallas wins this matchup, it will own the tiebreaker over Phoenix for winning the season series. That means the Mavericks would need only one more win to clinch a playoff berth and officially end the postseason hopes of the Suns.
However, if Phoenix wins Sunday, the gap would be cut to two games with the tiebreaker yet to be decided.
"We're Italy going to France playing on their home court for the World Cup," Suns veteran Grant Hill said, "so, no excuses."
Phoenix is 8-3 following a season-high six-game losing streak, while Dallas has lost six of 11.
The Suns, though, play their next four games away from US Airways Center. They have lost eight of nine on the road, allowing 118.5 points per game.
Dallas, meanwhile, has remained tough at home, winning 20 of its last 23. The Mavs beat the Suns 112-97 at American Airlines Center on Dec. 4, and they took a 2-1 lead in the season series with a 122-117 win in Phoenix on March 10.
"Every game from this point is going to count for us," Dallas center Erick Dampier said. "We don't just want to get in the playoffs, we want to move up. The only way we are going to do that is if we win games."
Having Josh Howard healthy for the final six games would certainly help the Mavs' cause.
After missing 11 straight games with an ankle injury, the veteran swingman returned for two contests before sitting out Friday. Dallas said it was due to a sore ankle, but Howard also aggravated a left wrist injury Wednesday night against Miami.
Howard's status for Sunday's contest is uncertain. If he can't play, James Singleton would likely get a second straight start as Dallas tries to compensate by picking up the intensity on defense.
The Mavs have allowed more than 100 points in 11 of their last 16 games. The Suns are averaging 119.8 points in their last 25 contests.
"When we make up our mind to play, we are a good defensive team," Dampier said. "We can't overlook anyone. It is going to be up to us to get the job done defensively."
Phoenix is coming off one of its most impressive offensive games of the season, shooting 54.7 percent and matching a season high with 14 3-pointers against Sacramento.
Steve Nash continues to play well, posting 29 points and nine assists before sitting out the fourth quarter with the starters resting for Sunday's game. The star point guard is averaging 28.3 points while shooting 60.0 percent from the field and 71.4 percent (10-for-14) from 3-point range in his last three contests.
Nash got some help in the backcourt with Leandro Barbosa returning after missing seven games with a bruised left knee, scoring 15 points in nearly 15 minutes. He's posting 14.3 points per game, 19.0 in his last two against Dallas.

I have a bottle for biologically made red wine - La Mancha Tinto; 12,5 % ; 2007 - stocked. I´m going to open it later and everthing will be fine. So it shall be the official gameday mojo. Plus, it´s 100 cl so i can have one glass with the Spurs...
No wait, a wine called tinto can´t be bottled in Bielefeld, Germany

Howard's status in the air: Josh Howard said he will wait to see how his left ankle feels to determine if he can play against Phoenix.
"It still hurts," said Howard, who stood and shot at practice but didn't run. "We'll see how it does through the night."
Howard said the team wants to keep his playing time at around 20 minutes. He believes the 29 minutes he played in Wednesday's win over Miami "kind of set me back a little bit. I've got to watch it."

Yes this is on ABC.

Yup, just drive to the hoop and get to the FT line. That's all we needed to beat Memphis on Friday.

This is a game we're supposed to win damn it, so let's just go out there and hit some god damn shots, play some god damn defense, and win the game. The rims are more friendly to our jumpers @ home so I feel good about this one, also Phoenix only has 2 road wins against winning team all year, and only 1 in the last 4 months!

OK, i ve had one of about 8 buckets of the the red wine bottle and the gameday is declared open. This thread is about to turn awesome within one hour or so.
Maybe i´ll be celebrating my 3000th post tonight and maybe the 20th that makes sense. Chances are low but i will try hard.

And what was Howard's reason for playing today? He said it was because it was an important game.
Um, all these games are important. They can't count him.
