Potatoes no longer allowed to be purchased with food stamps
Are you kidding me?? Are you KIDDING ME..
http://www.frumforum.com/the-fat-dia...ing-the-potato
Are we sure that we REALLY want the guvment running our health care?
The US Government now does not allow people on food stamps to buy......A POTATO!!! A potato for goodness sakes..
In general I have been a supporter of our government but this makes me think they are complete morons...Over half the agencies need to be abolished.

Apparently the first step is to get off of food stamps...

They all look very nice. I would stuff them in my pot and tell you, if they were available. Unfortunately the Inc.´s want to dictate us Germans what to eat. The critierion, of course, is not what keeps the man healthy, but what brings the profit, no matter the food value.
( They can go on and shove their potatoes right up their you know what - i would not even puke ´em)

I don't understand this. What are the Inc.'s? And Germans don't want to pay profitable prices for what is healthy?

Inc´s are corporations like Bayer Crop Science or Monsanto and they force farmers to buy seed only at their stores ( the advantage for them is that they can sell their insecticide with their seeds )

No one has to buy their seeds.
The real problem is that Monsanto, etc. don't have to pay for the damage to other people's property, caused by their seeds. In fact, when the wind plants those seeds on another farmer's property, they will get fined for it, instead of Monsanto.

If you knew all the extremely unhealthy food you could get with food stamps, youd think it was nuts that the potato is off limits. A potato is at least real food with real nutrients. Yet its no problem to get junky cereals or 1,000 other items with synthetic nutrients and countless additives. Big Food is genious! Or at least powerful.

...so, maybe potato chips should be off limits but potatoes ok? Maybe it would force the parents to actually cook for their children.
