Eddy Curry out in NY?
So Curry isn't part of D'Antoni's rotation in NY. Now, this is a stretch--but let's say that Wright and Green are capable of filling the SG role, and we have something else in the works (FA signing, low-ball trade) for a backup PG. JET becomes a very expensive 8th or 9th man. Trade him straight up for Eddy Curry. Curry then gets some minutes at the 5 when we want to run an offensive lineup, plays the 4 (with Dirk at the 3) when we want to run big. Probably a stupid idea, but I figured I'd toss it out there and see what people think.

I can't possibly put enough textual emphasis on this to get my point accross, so I'm simply going to say:
No

Please. All Curry has on Damp is hype.
And I love David Lee, but what on earth do we need with him?

And the ability to actually catch and hold onto the ball when it's passed to him. Plus Curry was averaging nearly 20ppg a few years ago...I'm not sure Dampier could score 20 a game in his dreams...

And Curry can't defend his position or rebound. He's a bad player.

Curry=5RPG ugh thats gross....But, they aren't talking about Curry playing D and rebounding, from what I'm reading they are only talking offense, low post in particular. I think most agree that Curry is sorta bumish.

And Damp can't catch a basketball...what's your point? They're both scrubs. But for a team that lacks low post scoring and has a PG that is supposed to create easy baskets, Curry would be a better fit - seeing as how he actually can catch a basketball. I'd sacrifice Curry's lack of defensive skills for his offense if I'm signing Diop to be my low post defensive presence. With Damp and Diop you have two offensively inept centers. With Curry and Diop you're giving the opponent a different look when one subs in for the other.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of any of those guys...

Damp alone, no. Damp with Kidd, yes.

If he's packaged with David Lee, I would give it a second look.

Can't believe I would say it...but this team needs Jason Terry!
(Or, someone really good that we could get for Terry.)

If Chum is not in favor of your Jason Terry trade scenario....well it's probably not a very good trade.

A Curry/Diop pairing would be interesting. Curry can do one thing incredibly well: score in the post.

Doesn't rebound and doesn't defend. As I've said many times before, might as well play Dirk/Bass at center.

I personally feels we'll be getting Starbury instead, let the polls begin !
"The Miami Heat, which reportedly is shopping Shawn Marion, was believed to have had some curiosity about Marbury at the start of the season. A source told Newsday that the Knicks have given the Heat "a standing offer" of Marbury for Marion, but it appears Miami's interest has fizzled, especially after the latest issue. The Mavericks, who need a backup for Jason Kidd, seem a possible destination. "

Just say no to starbury. I am out on every NY player not named David Lee or Nate Robinson.

As stupid and annoying as Marbury IS I think we need to pick him up if he can be had at a low low cost. Especially if he has some useable skills left!

Stackhouse/Singleton (after Dec. 15) for Curry works. New York saves some salary, and maybe Curry could be useful when Dallas couldn't find a way to score and needed somebody on the low post. He's also young, and one never knows.

It's only a salary dump for New York--Stackhouse is done at the end of the year and Singleton is probably let go immediately.
I think New York might do it--the Knicks are in the absolute worst salary cap hell imaginable.

You don't think they could get bigger expirings than Stack for Curry?

Not that much bigger than Stack and Singleton combined, or it wouldn't work under the salary cap. The Mavs might throw in $2 million to cover the salary owed Stack for next year.

NY moves Curry for a bag of rice. You dont have to send picks or talents.
But hey, it has a reason why Curry didnt play any minutes this season even with the knicks trying to move him.
And i better dont imagine in which shape he actually is...
Stay away.
Marbury i take. He has something to prove and he knows he cant shit around in a veteran team like the mavs. And if he does, waive him...

Curry is over i dont think he has anything left in him ...... besides the heart issues he has ... he is not a team player but more of a VIRUS in the team ...
Dantoni n Walsh did a good thing in NY ... im glad they are harrasing MARBURY 24 7... the problems he created in NY ... he deserves what he is getting now

If you guys want to **** the Maverick's future cap situation up the ass, then take Curry's contract. I'm glad some of you aren't GMs.
