Suns add Skinner
He won't fill the hole Kurt Thomas left but he's the best prospect out of the others they were considering.
Brian Skinner Joins Suns
September 25, 2007 - 2:53 am
Arizona Republic -
Eight-year veteran Brian Skinner and the Suns agreed to terms Monday on a one-year veteran's minimum deal, half of which is guaranteed. If Skinner remains on the team when opening day rosters are set Oct. 29, his $1.1 million salary will be fully guaranteed.
Skinner was the best of the big man prospects the Suns considered because he can offer Phoenix rebounding and defense with enough speed to play at the Suns' pace.
Skinner is accepting of the part-time role and had Phoenix atop his wish list because he wanted to play for a title contender after missing the playoffs last season, when he had 44 starts for Milwaukee.
"This is an opportunity to be on the inside looking out," Skinner said after his Thursday workout for Phoenix.

The missing link to the Suns championship! Might as well cancel the season already.
Skinner is probably just gonna stay on the bench all year, watch.

Skinner, this is like grasping at straws. They must know PJ Brown is either retiring or going to play for another team. I feel Brown won't retire because of the money that is going to be thrown on him to play. I feel this does help our chances and Phx does not want Webber.
Orlando, Dallas and Miami want PJ Brown and i think it is other teams but Miami is linked to PJ Brown and Bibby but will have to get rid of Haslem to get Bibby. If Miami could get Bibby and Brown, what a knock down drag out in the east next year. If Miami does nothing, they have gotten worse.
I know it has been silent lately and it is talks of us wanting both Brown and Webber. I think it could put us over the top to get one of these guys or atleast get us out of the west and still it will be a huge challenge against the Spurs regardless. I hope we can get Webber but i like both or either player.

The Suns add another threat to their scoring machine!
You add Skinner to Marcus Banks, Eric Piatkowski and Sean Marks and you have a potent bench. Beware the Suns are rising.
