Last 6 games
15.3ppg, 11.0apg, 7.7rpg, 2.8spg
Mavs record: 6-0. Had we gone 4-2 we coulda been 6th, but along with Dirk, Kidd put the team on his back and hauled us up to 3rd seed.

And considering that we played the Magic on the road, the Lakers, and the Hawks on the road, it would have been very easy to go 4-2 during this stretch. Then when you toss in the fact that we haven't had a backup center and had to go without Butler for two games as well, it makes what Kidd and Dirk did all the more impressive.

Kidd should be the Western Conference player of the week!
Only Kidd / Magic / Bird have had a /15/15/15/ game in the last 20 years.
Two each by Magic, Bird and Kidd.

quote from coach Carlisle after last nights win
"Jason Kidd was the driving force behind everything at the end of the game," he said. "The performance he had was an all-time performance, especially for someone who's 36 years old. This is one for the ages. I don't think there's ever been a smarter player in this league than Jason Kidd. There may be a few equals, like Magic, Larry Bird and Michael [Jordan], but none smarter."

And this quote from Dirk..........
"He's the smartest player I've ever seen," Nowitzki said.

That is AMAZING for Carlisle to say that...and I think he is right.

Player of the week for sure. And if the NBA gives it, as usual, to whoever had the most high scoring games, its just more proof that they don't understand their own game.

It was a ridiculously entertaining game. Even if the Mavs had lost, I wouldn't have felt as if I wasted 3 hours watching that game. I'd be disappointed at the results, but the game itself was just fabulous. It had several huge runs by both teams, it had a lot of well executed transition basketball (one of the funner things to watch in the NBA), it had some big blocks, and clearly it had some huge storylines. Overtime game, a controversial play, clutch long range shooting, and of course, one of the best performances from a single player ever.

If you're going to start a thread about Kidd since the All-Star break, at least post some stats or something. Post something of substance if you're going to start a thread.
What's next? Frankly, it's kinda pathetic that this passes for a thread these days at d-m.com.
