Why Mia might do it....
They need to blow it up, and even Riley knows it starts with the Bigs. Channing Frye is young enough to develop. Moving Shaq will free up lots of cash as Raef's contract comes off a year earlier, and Miles if he comes back healthy is still very athletic. It would mainly be a salary dump, but Raef, Frye, and a getting healthy Miles are not too bad a talent influx.
Why Portland might do it...
Getting an old Shaq that really isn't going to give but 15-20 min a night is exactly what they need. Especially since what they are giving up, is not in their real rotation. Shaq could teach Oden, Aldridge, and Przybilla. None of the big names has a re-up till Shaq's contract expires, and that would be the money used to resign the big names.
Who backs out on this one and why?
*** My best guess is that Mia would do it only if Przybilla were included instead of Miles, but I am uncertain if Portland would do that......maybe, but not till over the summer when they have Oden back, IMO.
