GDT Game 74 - Mavs (22-51) @ Kings (24-50) 9:00pm FSSW
This is one of the most important must-lose games for the rest of the season... Let's do this right.

Barea didnt travel with the team for personal reason and is out against Kings and Lakers
Getting a separation of three wins between us and the Kings would be huge. HUUUUUUUUGE.

I think Dirk and Barnes need a rest too. Maybe shut it down to 10 mpg for the rest of the season.

"(...) Briefly: Nowitzki is just one of many Mavericks who could miss Tuesday's visit to Sacramento. J.J. Barea (personal reasons) is out for both games on the trip that ends Wednesday against the Lakers. Dwight Powell (left knee) is questionable, as are Nerlens Noel, Dorian Finney-Smith and Salah Mejri as they return from injury management ... The Mavericks have lost two of three to the 24-50 Kings this season. Losing the season series would make it difficult for the Mavericks to pass Sacramento in the standings. They would be three games behind with eight to play. (...)"

This may be the biggest game of the season. And it seems the team sees it that way too, thank the lord.

UGH, I just feel very strongly we will win this one. That will ONLY be acceptable if Smith goes for 30+. And even then, UGH.

DSJ has 8 points in the first 8 minutes... I'm not saying you jinxed us, but I'm not not saying you jinxed us either.

Well he rolled his ankle and had to come out. Hopefully nothing serious, but if he has to miss a few games I'd be ok with that. Full tank ahead!

I'd like if he sat out a bit, but he'll probably tape an aspirin to that ankle and put up another 22 points in the 2nd half.

@ESefko: Rick Carlisle on finishing the season with nine games (six on the road) in 15 days: "It can’t happen fast enough. Get the starter’s blocks out, baby.”

@SacramentoKings: Public safety measures have been enacted and arena entrances remain closed.
We kindly ask all guests to travel home safely at this time.
Ticket holders unable to access tonight’s game will receive refund information from the team soon.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

I think the empty arena gives Sacto an unfair tanking advantage.

Kings made a run. 5 point game going into the 4th. I wish we would sit Barnes for the rest of the game.

So glad the Mavs never bit on D. Fox or Malik Monk for that matter. Both of those guys screamed bust to me. Lucky to have DSJ for the future.
I never had thoughts of drafting 4, so 5-7 is still in play. 7 would be frustratingly unfortunate, but a big possibility.

Yeah but anything worse than 5 feels kinda bleh right about now. I'd still rather get the right to choose who we want versus settling.

I'm fine with 6: Ayton, Doncic, Porter, JJJ, Mikal, Bamba... And if Sexton or Trae end up sliding into the top, we might be able to pick as bad as 7 and still be okay.

That first half was absolutely awful to watch. Both teams were tanking their absolute hardest. It seemed like SAC only made a shot after DAL would make one just so that they could stay behind in scoring.
If that was truly 2 teams trying their hardest to win, the future of the NBA is doomed.

Well the league has a huge issue on its hands with regards to fair competition as long as the super teams are allowed to unite.

We had to lose this game. Even if the final score was an embarrassing 59-60. Relying on the lotto balls bouncing our way seems similar to us expecting a ref call in the most important situation possible. You know it's going against us.

Mavs get back on track tonight
And one of Nets/Magic win so that will help us tread the 5/6.

Who woulda thought that Doug Mcdermott would be a prime culprit in winning some of these games...

Ugh. I like what Dougie brings to this team, but would it kill him to throw up some bricks for the good of the team? That was a must lose game.
