Good to see WCS is back with the team. Really like to see him get some consistent minutes.

KP is out. Markanen out for Chicago.
Eric Woodyard: Otto Porter will return tonight for the Bulls.
Eric Woodyard: Zach LaVine is doubtful with a left quad strain. Wendell Carter Jr. will also play and start vs. Dallas.

Curry questionable. Hope it isn't that knee he seemed to be nursing after that 4 point play...
Update: Curry OUT. Lower back tightness.

If WCS is really available, then tonight is the perfect night to get him some minutes. He should get at least 20 minutes if his conditioning is okay imo.
Luka, THJ, DFS, Maxi, WCS - starting 5. Me likey.

Agree. They will still need some scoring punch off the bench, but aside from Barea, I'm not sure who they can count on. I don't think Jackson will get a lot of burn, but this would be the perfect game for him to play extended minutes. MKG? Not likely. Call me crazy, but I would love to have me some Ryan Broekhoff available to fill the Curry 3-pt threat role tonight.
Edit: That reminds me, Lee. Who knows? He's a vet, so he should be able to step in and help. If he could get 6-8 that would be a nice little boost.

Lee had a double digit point game in Nov and one in early Feb. Maybe he'll get another

Rebounding was much better with boban on the floor
And I'm not that excited about MKG. He looks pedestrian at best and his defense might be a little overrated.
But it could be that in Charlotte he defended more wings around his size. In Dallas he's been defending more big players which Is not his strength

Agree. I think he'd look a lot better if he were a wing defender in a traditional set, but I think Dallas would take too big of a hit offensively for that to be palatable. Situational, end of game, single possession type thing imo.

Wow
We actually have a conventional lineup on the floor with true center Boban and true PF Kleber.
Boban is looking really solid scoring inside easily and grabbing boards

Yep, too bad I have a feeling WCS will get a DNP to be "punished" for his time off for personal reasons tbh

Yeah it would be too smart to play WCS over MKG
Still waiting to see him line up next to kleber off the bench down the road
Kleber could the stretch 4 with WCS at center off our bench but knowing RC he'll force feed the Kleber/MKG tandem at the backup 5 and 4 spots

MKG is a more versatile defender. I want to see WCS too, but I can see why MKG got in first.

Versatile?
He's struggled defending inside at the 4 and 5 spot since his arrival
He's not defending perimeter players so his versatility goes to waist
WCS is agile for a big he makes more sense at the 5 with kleber at the 4 off the bench because both guys are at their natural positions as opposed to playing Kleber and MKG together off the bench
That tandem has not looked good so far anytime it's been used we get killed on the boards

He was getting those before he left. I don’t think he’s being punished.

Not with KP out I dont think. Even Boban got PT ahead of him.
Regardless of that though it's just dumb, the guy has clearly proven he deserves a chance tbh. Carlisle things I guess...

I agree with you. While I'm happy to see Boban play and am not surprised by his productivity, I almost view his minutes played as wasted because RC won't play him much the remainder of the year or in the playoffs. If that turns out to be the case, then the minutes Boban is playing would've been better spent integrating WCS into the Mavs rotation and get him accustomed to playing with the team. HOWEVER, that's assuming WCS has a decent-sized role ahead the remainder of the season and playoffs, which is anybodys guess at this point.
So, yeah, I find Boban's minutes tonight a bit puzzling, and figure that whatever "personal" reasons were responsible for WCS absence, tonight is a bit of punishment sitting.

yeah, he's a mismatch in the middle, and the Mavs were smart there and passed around until they got an easy shot. Really pretty sequence there.

Seriously. He was hitting them at a decent clip early in the season. All those DNP’s made him forget how to shoot.

Forgetting how to shoot is why he got all those DNPs. The mediocrity came first.

Boban is great at scoring and grabbing boards, too bad he's still at half court when the other team is attacking our paint... It's hard to play defense when you're on the wrong side of the floor. Dude is sooooo slow.

this. i really dont know why this is so hard to understand. he is so slow that he often ruins the defensive schemes/rotations
Boban isnt a rotation player, he is a "break glass in case of emergency" player.

Lol
What defensive schemes and rotations are you referring to?
The mavs rank 18th in defense this year so it's not like they are killing it without him.
They constantly blow rotations or get a small switched on to a big without boban ever playing
I really don't see how he makes the defense any worse than they already are this year.
What I do see is a guy who constantly gets his team easy buckets and offensive rebounds
He's actually more productive than per say MKG on both ends of the floor and I thought MKG was going to be a good defensive pickup but he's out of position trying to play PF that's why he's looked so pedestrian every outing
