GDT: Round 1, Game 4 - Mavs (1-2) at Clippers (2-1) 2:30pm ABC
Game 4. Mavs have won a game, but need to prove that they can adjust. If we tie it up, it's a best of 3 series. If we lose, we are all but out of this series.
Injury report
Doncic - ankle sprain - questionable
Burke - ankle spreain - probable
KP - heel soreness and knee soreness - probable
Lee - leg - out
Powell - achilles - out
Brunson - shoulder - out
Beverly - calf tightness - doubtful

Sun 1:27 PM: Doncic will be available to play Sunday after previously being considered questionable with a sprained ankle. He suffered the injury during Friday's loss and returned briefly before being ruled out for the rest of the game. There's been no word of any hard limits for Doncic on Sunday, though it remains to be seen how effective he'll be on that bad ankle. Kristaps Porzingis (heel) and Trey Burke (ankle) remain listed probable.

Sixers tanked for years and it looked like it might equal at least one championship, now it doesn't look like that. Wouldn't be surprised if Simmons or Embiid get traded.
Would you trade for Tobias Harris if he was available?

Depends on what they want for him and we'd also have to match salaries which is rough for a guy earning 32mill. I'm not sure we can even swing a trade unless THJ opts into his PO, but also signs off on a trade
THJ+ Wright + DFS would get you there salary-wise, but I'm not sure that would make us better, considering they'd probably also want our draft picks this year too so we couldn't get a 3/D wing in the draft to replace THJ.
KP would get it done by himself, but it's the same salary for the same length of time and KP plays the same position as Embiid, so that would be a no-go probably for both teams)
Other than that, it would take trading a lot of guys for just Harris if you don't trade KP or THJ, then the next best you can do is Powell, Wright, Kleber, Curry, and DFS to get a matching salary. That's a lot of talent for one guy who barely outperformed DFS

“Doncic and Harrell spoke during warmups. Seemed to have a genuinely warm conversation.”
“Luka and Montrezl Harrell with a long heart to heart conversation during the warm up.”

I was on cbssports.com eaerlier and they showed this video of Avery Johnson, he thinks he would have won game 1 if KP not ejected and we would have won Game 3 if Luka didn't get hurt. What a homer.

Why is this a homer call?
Imagine if PG was ejected instead of KP and Leonard was hurt instead of Luka. Those are legitimate REASONS for losing games

I was being sarcastic because he used to coach the Mavs. I don't know that we would be 3-0 regardless of anything going against us, but things have clearly gone against us to where we could be up 2-1.

This is the reason you keep more than 3 guys over 6'7 on a roster.
Zubac and MH will have career games.

KP has a history of injuries and Boban is severely limited.
Not having some type of insurance for this situation is piss poor risk management.
I'm a big Donnie and Mark fan but they missed badly on this one.

They talked about signing a big and decided Burke made more sense now and in the future rather than what was available.

I just hope in the coming years when we're considered contenders, Luka and KP can stay healthy. It seems to always be one or the other with something.

There’s very little upside to Doncic being out there. KP’s knee is going to be like this for awhile. If it has to be managed with missing a random playoff game.....we really have to improve the roster

I know playoff experience is a thing, but honestly all he's going to do is cause more inflammation in that ankle.

As long as the medical staff doesn't think there's a risk of more severe injury, what's the difference? They aren't advancing, so why not get the kid that experience?

There's always more risk of an injury when a body part is tender. It is always a risk to play while injured. The ankle is weaker so is more likely to be twisted again, and also an injury to one body part make injuries to other body parts more likely.
Klay Thompson was cleared to play with tightness, and he ruptured his ACL. One injury always make you more likely to injure yourself.

Right, I get that. But obviously, the medical staff has decided the risk of MAJOR injury isn't elevated, or you can bet your life he wouldn't be on the floor. And, since there's a 0% chance the Mavs will play in round 2, there's no issue with him sustaining another garden variety ankle sprain.
So, what's the concern?
