Curious why Bey isn’t on that list.

Does not seem to be in our longterm plans. His rights were not picked up.
I'd love to give him another shot, but it doesn't seem like the team does.

Greg St Jean interview. I hadn't seen him in person before this. I at least like him as a first impression. I had read when we hired him that his job with the Lakers was the scouting of opponents and relaying the information in game to the players and coaches based on what he scouted.
I will say I wasn't a huge fan of the Kidd hire but I've liked all the assistants around him rly.

Yeah me too, but with 6 signed centers in front of him, I doubt that he'll get much of an opportunity.
Hopefully he can make it as a PF but don't think he has the foot speed to play that position.
He should be fun to watch in summer league and the g-league. Just hope he can get a 2-way contract because his skills and attributes are intriguing but Jones could be the best of the group and it wouldn't surprise me if another wing gets the 2nd contract.

FYI Mavs play today at 3 CT. I'll be watching and will update with thoughts on Terry/ Hinton/ Onu/ Omoruyi post-game.

T. Bey has not signed anywhere unless I missed it. I find it strange that another team hasn't swooped in and signed him or if he was worried about getting a deal, he'd be in the summer league. First Team all pac-12 in soph year. Junior Pac-12 DPOY. Was one of the best player in g-League bubble. Super athletic and has huge wing span. Teams like Memphis and toronto are usually all over these types.
As a conspiracy, maybe the Mavs have a 2-way on the table but he wants to try for a real contract. Mavs gave him more freedom by removing the RFA status so teams know the Mavs can't match.
or
He has proved enough to get the Mavs contract but they have a full roster and need to clear out some spots. I like burke but he and a couple of the centers could go. Brown and Bullock should easily replace Burke. Maybe there is a trade coming that opens the roster spot for Bey. If the scenario is they are going to give him vet min, he would get plenty of development time in pre-season and start off in Frisco anyway unless mass injuries or another COVID attack occurs.
or Could he be looking for an international deal?

Bey is on the Bulls SL squad. I had high hopes for him, but ultimately I think he won't pan out in the league as a 'tweener without a clearly identifiable elite skill or high bball IQ.

I think I saw Bey on Chicago's summer squad, but I'm not positive.

Yeh. He has surfaced on the Bulls. I can quit stressing over him. At least the Mavs got Sterling Brown, Burke and kept WCS. Doh!

Both teams looking sloppy to start. Terry had a very good, aggressive drive to the paint and has generally been moving the ball well.
Omoruyi looks strong and surprisingly skilled on offense. He had a very aggressive defensive play followed by a nice midrange shot with the defense all over him. He got the shot off after a savvy pump fake and bump. He looks better than Hinton already.

Terry is SKILLED driving to the basket... utilizes step throughs and change-of-pace extremely well for his size. Finishes extremely well for his size.

He was forcing the 3 ball a bit, but he had some nice drives to the basket.

You watching a different game? Lol .
All these MFs look bad. Maybe next half someone shows a spec of being NBA players.

Tyrese Maxey is the best player on the court by far. Another guy who was available at 18 last year...

Onu's reaction time and motor is too hot and cold. I don't see an NBA player.

I'm not sold on Hinton. Based on what I see, Omoruyi and Terry are the two viable prospects.

I'm not watching this trash in the 2nd half. None of these dudes look like guys who can develop even into the 15th man.

If only Josh Green was playing to keep it somewhat interesting. What an absolute dumpster fire of a team

3 on 1 and they get a bucket. This team sucks.
I know Green was at the Olympics, but he barely played. Why isn’t he getting a minutes? Dude needs all the time he can get in the floor.

I thought so too, but he got plenty of time going against the 1s of Australia. This SL might have actually hurt any confidence he has because this shits garbage dumpster trash.

Well this isn't what I wanted to see as far as reviews from the game lol
Hope the next few games show some progress and/or promise. Really only interested in Terry. How was Onu?

Onu was...Non existent, Not impressive like the rest of them. Eugene was sorta decent and Terry hit some shots way late but did a poor job of running the point.. You didn't miss anything.

And some fans wonder why we're a little worried with the FO. I watched about a quarter of it before turning it off. Yikes.

No one could run the offense effectively. Any hope for Terry or Hinton leading that group was quickly washed. Granted SL is often a cluster fk.

Not sure I'm casting any judgment on the FO based off of summer league, much less one game. This isn't even their product, unless I am misreading and you meant the previous FO.

I would just say first game, in a new system, with young, inexperienced players.
As a compare, did you watch the Cowboys after starters went out? Not pretty either. And many ofvthem had some experience.
