I'm sure teams are lining up for that. Thats what Morey has up his sleeve> Salary dump a bunch of injury prone one dimensional guys?

Houston shows zero loyalty to their players -- seems like everyone who signs there is on the block.

But hey, their best player plays zero defense, plays one of the most disgusting brands of basketball, and quits in playoff games but is getting rewarded with a 168m 4yr extension reportedly. Houston never change please.

Good luck finding a taker for Ryan Anderson. That was a mistake of a contract from the get-go.

Morey going again after players linked to the Spurs..thats just retarded. No one picks the Rockets over the Spurs.
LMA was Spurs bound and Morey still going after him. Same now with Paul. Paul doesnt leave the Clippers for the stupid Rockets if he can go to the Spurs.

Ian Begley: Phil Jackson on Kristaps: “As much as we love this guy, we have to do what’s best for the club.”

Ian Begley: Phil Jackson, asked what he’d say to skittish Knicks fans: “I think we know what we’re doing.”

I guess I don't get it. At some point you have to build around a player who shows potential to be a franchise player. KP certainly looks like the type of player you can build around. I think a lot of people beg to differ, Phil.

I'm thinking Phil has some sort of secret grudge against NYK from his days as a player and is trying to sabotage their franchise... I mean, it's the only thing that makes sense at this point.

I honestly can't believe what is going on with the Knicks. What's funny is if they hadn't drafted Kristaps, then Jackson would have been fired already. And yet, he wants to trade him now? So weird.

And the reality is that Kistraps is 100% right. Mavs FO, as flawed as they may have been in the last 5 or so years, would NEVER treat their players the way the Knicks do. That does matter.

All starts with a crappy owner. Now that Sterling is out, Dolan is the worst in the league.

Yeah it's classless to ship a guy out and then throw a shot like that out there. But he's Magic, so he's going to get a pass.
Especially when he said this-

@BA_Turner: Clippers guard Chris Paul has also informed the Clippers he is declining his option to become unrestricted free agent, per source

I hope they both leave so Deandre and Doc rot in Clipper hell together. Deandre can finally be the focal point of the offense!

But i kind of hope they all stay with the Clippers. Paul, Griffin, Jordan, Rivers, Ballmer...they all deserve each other. Let them enjoy some more really expensive 1st round exits. Specially after Pauls super max at age 32

I wouldn't mind if some of these dudes would go East ffs. Butler joining the West now too makes the East that much weaker.

With LeBron and George trying to force their way to LA, the WCF are basically going to be the Finals.

I'm self-aware enough to know how unbecoming this is, but man I want Lonzo to bust so badly.

Lets not all celebrate too soon the Clippers demise. Wade will be bought out. Melo will likely be traded. Paul George is still available. The Clippers have Jerry West. Talk of LeBron going to LA. There are two teams in LA. The Clippers can and likely will trade DeAndre. Maybe for PG even. Maybe they sign and trade Blake for Melo. Re-sign Chris Paul. Wade signs for minimum. They have their bullshit banana boat bro fest almost complete. I know it sounds far fetched and there are too many moving parts. It may be impossible cap-wise, not entirely sure. We just have to hope that either CP or Blake leaves as a FA

This is going to be so gross if Melo and Wade get bought out and go to LAC or Cleveland.
The only way the NBA season and playoffs could be even less entertaining then they just were. Stacking the decks further.

I think it would be awesome if they went to LAC -- I'd love to watch that dumpster fire burn...

I really think we (the NBA) is going to a "best 16 teams" playoff format.
I'm sure the players assoc. and LeBron power players clique has already got a wink-wink
with the commish.

I meant it as a prelude to Lebron and Paul George joining them.
Luckily they weren't able to deal Deandre for a pick or for George-- at least not yet.

Too many MVPs getting eliminated too early... This way they can take whoever had playoff success and pretend like that was their guy all along.

Question though. Chicago claimed T-Wolves' offer was best one on the table, I think there were at least as good ones and they simply went with familiar face plus future favor.
Anyone here would have taken Butler for something like 9th pick plus Matthews? Maybe throw in something little to sweeten it a bit, but I see this pretty similar to what Chicago got and as they wanted Lauri, then there was every reason to believe he was going to be there at 9. Just keep in mind that nobody thought DSJ is going to be available at 9.
I think that the Mavs had a chance to consider it but Butler's age was an issue. If this is the case then it clearly shows that Mavs are actually rebuilding through youth, especially when GSW keeps NBA finals locked until 2019-2020.

The Celtics should have went hard for him to me. Boston has made like 13 draft picks or something since 2013 and they have an unknown Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart to show for it. Throw in Olynyk I guess but for as much crap as we give MC for trading down and missing Greek freak Boston traded up to get Kelly into our spot and didn't take Greek. Shouldda traded lotto tickets for Butler 100% when you are that close.
As for the Mavs I wouldn't have traded the #9 pick unless he agreed to extend with us. We are too far away to trade that pick for a possible 2 year rental. And since he didn't do it or nothing has been reported about extension talks I'd assume that isn't on the table from Butler's camp. I also don't think they want any part of Wes in a trade. A 3 and D guy without much 3 making 18m a year over 30yrs old is not high on the list of a team hitting the reset button. And since I don't think they could flip him for a 1st they wouldn't do us a favor in taking him off our books.

Not taking Matthews for his contract has some logic in it. I say some logic because instead of taking his salary, we will probably see Chicago throwing money on bad contracts in the near future.

Paul wants to go to Houston?
Never been so conflicted. Love watching the Clippers implode with Deandre stuck in the rubble. Hate the trashy ass Rockets and Paul for thinking Harden will let him touch the ball.

I still think he's just using them to gain leverage in talks with Clips. I could halfway believe he'd be a Spur for a better chance to win but the Rockets... Seems like a terrible fit. But if he did go to the Rockets he would bring a fantastic whiny culture with him to mix with their bleeding eye sore of a franchise player. They would have to do some serious gutting of the roster to get to his 35m max though. They would lose Pat Bev, Anderson, Lou, and 2-3 end of the bench guys I think might do it. Keep spinning those wheels Rockettes. That's a lot of 3's and cheap ass assists for Harden to lose for a guy who will miss 20-30 games like clockwork.
Plus he's no Woodslanger doesn't move the needle to me.
