Butler getting used to easy buckets

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Caron Butler has an interesting explanation for his difficulty finishing around the basket in his first two games with the Mavericks: He has to get used to being fed easy buckets.

"I’m not used to getting the ball in such great position," said Butler, who was 0-of-5 in the paint during his 6-of-16 Wednesday night. "Jason Kidd is finding you and getting you the ball, and it’s like, ‘Whoa.’ I’m getting used to that.

"I don’t even have to think about trying to create for others or finding my own shot. I’m already in position. Only thing I’ve got to do is finish. It’s a new adjustment."

Maybe the trip to Orlando will snap Butler out of his mini-slump. He scored 31, including a game-winning jumper, when the Washington Wizards played here before the All-Star break.
