Kobe: 27 points on 10/25 shooting.
Dirk: 29 points on 10/12 shooting.
Dirk defines efficiency, just saying.

Dirk is great, no doubt, but here's a quick Dirk question: Where has that spin move of a post up been? The very beginning of this video has it and reminded me, but its been bugging me for a while. I remember it being money last year, but I don't really remember seeing it at all this year. I haven't watched as many games because I've been busier this year, so maybe I've just missed it, but I don't think its just that.

Just have Dirk go out and have a 739 point game and pass that bald mf'er above him, then it'd be back to two active.

I feel for you but still wouldn't accept any failure on your part.

Don't want to defend Rose, and i think he became overrated, and at least one year away to join the true impact players in this league... But he had to carry a ridiculous scoring load for a long time, with Luol Deng as his best offensive weapon... He's not the most efficient scorer in the league, but he's improved a lot. I'm afraid he'll win the MVP, and it will be undeserving. I think Howard should win it, Dirk being close second, but "knowing" the american media, they won't be in the top 3.

Rose had bad shooting nights in like 7 of his last 9 games...
Dirk wont be MVP. Rose or Dwight are more sexy picks, way more marketable.

That makes sense, until you consider that Kobe was a MUCH sexier pick the year Dirk won MVP...

True, but if you have a team with a superstar going 67-15 it is hard to neglect that.

ESPN's Weekend Dime displays clutch stats compiled by Elias Sports Bureau. These are whenever a player takes a shot in the last ten seconds of a game which is tied, or the shooting team is within three points.
In the past three seasons the top players in made shots respective to the above criteria are:
Most FGs Made In Clutch*, Past Three Seasons
Player FGs
Kobe Bryant 10-21
Dirk Nowitzk i8-13
Carmelo Anthony 8-16
Rudy Gay8-17
* Clutch defined as the last 10 seconds of a game tied or trailing by three or fewer
Obviously, Dirk has the best shooting percentage among the top producers with only Kobe making more of these shots.

I don't understand this meme going around recently that Kobe is killing his team by taking clutch shot opportunities. Think about it. You want Dirk deferring to Stackhouse or JJB?

Nah, by "taking," I just meant Kobe had more opportunities than anyone else.
Obviously he should be taking them.
Nice to see Dirk has the highest percentage though...

We aint just talking last ten seconds though. Well, by "we", I mean people. Often (and exacerbated recently) Kobe has been taking flat out stupid shots down the stretch in games instead of utilizing Pau.
And I'm sure you wold prefer Dirk prefer to JJB.

Rep for the find.
Funny thing is, this is a great stat indicative of clutchness...but who will see it? Very few people. This is the type of thing I wish announcers would bring up in televised games rather than rhetoric.

I'm sure that Followill can make note of it tonight since 2 of the players are on the court tonight. If he doesn't know, I can bring it to his attention....but I'm pretty sure he's aware of it.

Good stuff. Though mostly I mean National Announcers (ESPN, TNT, etc.) because I think most Dallas announcers/writers know how clutch Dirk is.

"Injury update: Dirk Nowitzki could joke about it before Wednesday's game. He had a painful left shoulder injury in the second quarter against Portland on Tuesday and said he took care of it "like Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon."
That is, by banging it against a file cabinet to push it back into place.
OK, so it wasn't quite that dramatic.
Still, it was sore going into Wednesday night's game."

Oh snap, i just realized this was a repost. Sorry about that. Dirk is great though. Anybody has game footage from his rookie and sophomore season? Preferably his big games?

Dirk has his highest Points Per 40 minutes since 05'-06'.
His scoring has actually gone up, his minutes have simply gone down.
