If I thought I could find a cliff in North Texas, I would jump off of it.
I mean...you just can't write this kind of tragedy. Shakespeare's works pale in comparison to the Dallas Maverick story.

Wow. I saw him looking at his finger weirdly after some FTs in the 4th.

I'm calling it now Dirk will come out and shoot a 40+ game in game 2. I know this is not an injury to take lightly with a shooter, but I just got this feeling it will not be as bad as we all fear.

It's his non-shooting hand so I'm not counting him out yet, but this does blow

Yeah, you rebound, pass and play defense with just the one hand so I'm sure it's no big deal. #denial #over

Well this is the capper to a crappy evening. I'm just going to go to bed now. At least it's his non-shooting hand, but this is news I could have done without.

Well they aren't chopping off his whole bloody hand. I mean, I don't want to spin this as nothing, but you see football players play with broken fingers all the time. Kobe had his finger issue for an entire championship run. I'm no doctor so I'm not sure how much difference there is playing basketball with a broken finger/torn tendon so I guess we'll just have to see. It's not like he was playing horrible to close out the fourth.

Twenty bucks says he takes it off midway through game 2 because he feels like it's messing with his mojo.

GTFO. Being "sick" isn't nearly as detrimental as a physical injury.

(and I am kidding. I was 16 years old and on a cruise ship at the time, gathering around a crowd of people outside of a dining room to watch those particular festivities, if you really want to know. A sports nerd even then already.)
Little did I know my Mavericks were destined to be as championship-constipated as those Jazz.

Worst time possible for Dirk to be injured AT ALL.

I know Dirk's not gonna pack it in, and neither should we. Count our blessing and be thankful its not his shooting hand. Certainly its not ideal, but it could be worse. Time for the rest of the TEAM to step up and help Dirk out.
Injury or no, this series is NOT over.

Yes, I remember, but do not consider my self old.
I forget who it was I believe a member of the coaching staff that said. I've seen Dirk come back from injuries in 2 or 3 minutes that other players would be out 3 weeks for.
Have faith Dirk is on tough son on a bitch.

Wow, how sad for you. It was just a year or two removed from the Stars' Stanley Cup. And I know you are such a huge fan.

Just another thing to overcome. I'm still confident.

THIS
Just makes the story that much sweeter if we can pull this off... No reason to panic yet, we are still a damn good team, and we aren't out yet. We win Thursday and tonight doesn't matter. One game at a time, lets do it!

He just casually mentions this in his presser tonight. Thought that was funny in a weird sort of way. Oh yeah by the way everyone, I fucked up my finger pretty good. Goodnight.

It will be interesting to see how much this injury is going to have an impact on Dirks game thursday...
A healthy Caron Butler would be HUGE right now.

You must of just began seeing the nba if you think any player in this series will score 40 points against each other, neither dirk or lebron will score 40

I have been watching the NBA my entire life and I'm 40 years old. As much I dislike James both he and Dirk are more then capable of that even against the best of defense.

It would take extraordinary circumstances for anyone to do that given the defensive attention both teams are allotting to the two players.
