I hate them both, but I don't live in TX so I don't have to deal with Rocket or Spurs fans and thus I don't feel that inner state rivalry. I can understand the Harden and Howard hate though. However.. with GSW.. too many bad memories and emotional scars to ever want them to win at anything.

Because of 2007? Totally different team and coach. And that was largely because of Avery Johnson's ineptitude.
I just don't think it's anywhere near as bad as a rivalry like SA or Houston.

Morey's latest puppet of a coach-

"The last shot was typical of what James does," Rockets coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. "The move, we've seen before. The finish, we've seen before. You do get spoiled by it at times, but in these biggest of moments, you can't help but appreciate it.

Sooooo... we've seen him push off before? Yup. We appreciate watching him play like this every single game? Not even remotely... There is a reason everyone outside of Houston hates this trash.

I'm curious if that interview with Bickerstaff was before or after the NBA announced the shot shouldn't have counted.

Pretty sure it was in the presser after the game. So before the NBA announced that Houston got a pity W.

Harden is the best example in the history of the league that defense is all about want to. If he put as much effort into defense as he did pushing off players and flopping, then he'd be Bruce Bowen.

James Harden and his no D playin ass and his toxic stat padding hero ball brand of basketball has rubbed off on his team and it shows in their body language as they quit on plays quite frequently. Meanwhile a 37yr old Dirk plays hard all the time and is the ultimate team player and thus a depleted team and a serious lack of talent are playing their asses off at least vs Thunder. This Rockets Warriors game is a joke rn from an effort standpoint.

The Rockets are an embarrassment. Tied at the half with the Warriors and Curry goes down for the entire 2nd half. Yet Rockets still manage to lose. I overestimated the Rockets after last years 3-1 comeback vs Clippers. Never will I do that again. Warriors in 5

I think it's a near certainty, but you might need to double check with a certain super tall blonde first.

Or Kelly Olynyk, Shabazz Muhammad, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Dennis Schroder.
That was a bad draft to trade out of given the quality of players in that range.

What are you thoughts on East vs West conference strength now that we are closing out the first round of the playoff?
GSW, SAS, OKC all finished their series quickly. LAC is hosed due to injuries or they probably would have one in at most 6 games. While in the East, CLE swept their series. Yet all the others are 3-2.
I'm not really buying that the East is that much tougher this year. I think they have a lot of parity outside of CLE and it makes for a better storyline. People say the West declined, but I would argue that it's pretty close to what it was except that we had a historic team in GSW and SAS right on their heals.
Is the Beast of the East returned or is it still Best in the West?

People looked at the 5-8 seed records and determined that the East was suddenly better, but it's no surprise that the bottom seeds in the West racked up more losses while GSW and SA were tearing up the league (and more specifically, the conference)... But, still:
Average East playoff team record: 49-33
Average West playoff team record: 52-30
Not exactly scientific, but the West playoff teams are still better overall, even if it is skewed by top-heaviness... Although those top teams are more likely to win a championship, which should absolutely be factored in any East vs West debate.
