RE: 1st cowboy preseason game
The 3-4 defense is a great one when you have the right personnel and it is run correctly. I hope it works.

Warner looks good in the Cards white and red. I've always been a fan of his.
Cowpokes are a little tentative right now.

RE: 1st cowboy preseason game
Just as an aside...the Cards's uniforms would look a whole lot tighter if their helmets were cardinal red.
Roy Williams is a mo-fo.
C'mon, boys. Let's get something done here. I'm looking forward to the first pass downfield.

That Cowboys season tickets commercial featuring Rpy Williams was badass.

RE: 1st cowboy preseason game
Seventy-two yards in the air, that last punt. McBriar can hit it, baby.
So can that kickoff artist for Phoenix.
Doc, how you getting the game down there? Do you get the Dallas channels?
Offense looks like death warmed up so far. But whatareyougonnado? I don't think they are aiming very high here.

RE:1st cowboy preseason game
Probably won't see much more of Bledsoe. Liking what we're seeing from Henry so far. And Terrence Newman looks great. Like the announcers said, much more confident than last year.
Also, did you see Julius come up limping a few plays ago? Man, that just strikes fear in my heart. Careful dude, it's just preseason. Although he's probably up to the 8-10 carries he's going to get tonight anyway.

RE: 1st cowboy preseason game
That's 78 in the air for McBriar. Maybe 76 or 77, but I think it was 78. Amazing. Good job covering it. Wow.

RE:1st cowboy preseason game
Well, at least we can say Mat McBriar looks great. Apparently we're going to be getting a lot of use out of him.

Give it time, Doc. Give it time. There is no semblance of a game plan here. Just a little jaunt to the desert to take a look at some guys.
This team wins ten games. Minimum.
Nice pass just there by Romo. Hmm. What do with Henson if he doesn't perform? We all know that Vinny is getting one of the QB spots.

RE: 1st cowboy preseason game
Go ahead and mark it. I'm not the least bit surprised if Torrin Tucker doesn't make this team. He is a big, overgrown kid. I've seen him; I know that. (Gurode is, too, by the way.) I don't think he has what it what it takes to be a pro ball player on a serious team.

RE: 1st cowboy preseason game
Well we found out one thing. Torrin Tucker is not making this team.
Romo looked good. At least he knows how to get it to his tight end.
Newman made some plays and Henry looks like he could be really solid.

RE:1st cowboy preseason game
-Demarcus Ware looked tentative, especially when going against big Leonard Davis. Maybe he was nervous but he's going to have to up his intensity if he wants to live up to his potential. He did have one nice play with about two minutes left in the 3rd…he just ran through the LT and chased McCowan all the way across the field.
-Our tackles look horrible. Julius Jones tweaked his knee because Petiti was shoved back into him while JJ was trying to make a cut. There was a couple of plays where Vollers blocked down on the tackle while the end just ran into the backfield unabated...the most crucial was on that last sack. I have a feeling RT is going to plague us all season.
-I'm convinced that Fitzgerald trapped that touchdown pass.
-Crowder looks like he's going to be hard to cut

RE:1st cowboy preseason game
I thought Romo looked pretty good, & I also thought Henson didn't look nearly as bad as I was expecting, based on what we've heard out of camp.
I really liked Tyson Thomson, even though we only saw him against third-stringers. Dude is fast.
McBriar, Crowder, Newman & Henry all stood out & of course, Witten was his usual awesome self. All in all, this preseason game wasn't nearly as painful to watch (except for all the penalties) as some of the ones we've had in recent years. I saw some reason to hope.

RE: 1st cowboy preseason game
Somehow I bet they are scouring the wires today, looking for a right tackle. In general, they were all awful yesterday.

RE: 1st cowboy preseason game
They're not going to find a tackle on the wire on the street that's better than what they have in camp now. Tony Sporano is just going to have to coach his guys up. He campaigned for the job this summer, now it's time for him to prove his value over George Warhop.

RE: 1st cowboy preseason game
this may be true, but I got tired of seeing the right tackle driven back to the RB and QB 3 yards behind the LOS, or someone just run around the tackle, and him get grabbed.
That was a pathetic display.
