The Spurs just refuse to lose. It's that simple.

that was so stupid - you gt foul with like 8 seconds to go so you atleast have a chance to get off a shot to win this.

Ten fouls on O'Neal after his 5th one. At least.

Good. Screw the Suns. Screw them so hard.
I don't even care about the Spurs anymore. I really don't.
My hatred for the Suns burns bright. I don't ever want to see them get theirs before we get ours.

? They would still have to take it upcourt. I would take my chances on getting a stop. Manu just did his jello move and banked it in. Can't help that.

Lol. That would've been stupid. You gotta d it up. You don't give them points because you don't think your team can't stop them from scoring. Spurs did the exact same thing. After the Finley 3 there was time left on the clock and they didn't foul. As a result they went into OT. After the Duncan 3 there was 3 seconds left and still didn't foul so they go into Double OT. They win in the 3rd OT. I guess if the Suns have zero faith in their defense I guess you can play with fire like that but i'd like to think the Suns have enough faith in their defense to where they can get a stop at the end of the game. It was great defense. Ginobilli just hit a touch shot.

It's not like he was hacking at the players. If he gives a soft bump, congrats on the refs for not dictating the game.

That was a CRAZY game, Nash was clutch but the Spurs just refused to lose. Fin had some nice threes, and how crazy was Duncan's three? I was actually rooting for the Suns, but I just want this series to go the distance and have these guys worn out.

That was one awesome game. I just wonder if we could of hung in there with either team the way the Suns/Spurs did. That's what it takes to win it all, get all the stops and hit all the big shots.

Erm, our track-record shows we can't sadly We'll see I guess. It's not like you expect Duncan to hit a 3. Maybe the Mavs can hit theirs.

That arm in Manu's face wasn't a soft bump, for one. Seems like that has become a Bennet Salvatore-approved move for Shaq.
Those phuckers should call the fouls that are there. A foul is a foul is a foul is a foul is a foul

The arm wasn't a foul, but he was in the restricted area. That's one miss call. You got another other mind-blowing examples? You said 10 at least.

Tim Duncan is simply amazing. He may be winning the title of 'greatest player of his era' right now. Shaq was more dominant in his prime but hasn't had the longevity.
Stat anomaly: only three Spurs had assists. Duncan, Paker, and Manu had five each.

Agree, Stranger. TD is amazing.
Who's done it better for longer? Nadie. For this era.

the "arm in manus face" wasnt a foul. he got all ball with his arm and he was straight up. manu jumped into him so i wouldnt have called the body contact either.

That was an incredible game. Simply amazing. I couldn't believe the Spurs though. For every good move they did they had like 5 brainfarts. It was simply will that had them winning that game.
We can only hope that all there games are like that!!

After just day one everything seems to be aligning for the Spurs to win another championship. 80% of teams that win game 1 win the series so assume they beat the Suns and the Hornets beat us. (sadly) Spurs will stomp the Hornets, then probably get the Lakers and I like the Spurs in that series. Spurs/Celtics Spurs win.

his arm was extended and he got elbow to the face. plus, there was body contact and shaq was within the restricted circle. it should have been a foul, but if that was the most glaring missed call of the game, the refs did a pretty decent job.
the free throws would have been relatively equal if not for the hack-a-shaq by the spurs. wouldn't think fans of either team would be complaining much - although i'm sure phxsuns.net is up in arms just the same.

Is Rafer Alston the equivalent of a "one hit wonder" or what? Houston was ready to crown him King of Hwy 610 just a few month ago

being in the restricted circle doesnt mean its automatically a block(or at least it shouldnt.) it just means it cant be a charge. if the defender is vertical and in the restricted area it should be a no call.

You can still commit a charge in the restricted circle. You can't commit a charge in the restricted circle if you initiate a drive from outside the lower blocks.

being vertical has nothing to do with it. besides, shaq wasn't vertical.
manu drove and their was body contact. shaq being the bigger object wasn't moved and manu got bumped. shaq had position first, but it was within the restricted circle, so yes it should have been a block.
the intent of the rule is to keep big men from camping under the hoop by forcing them to come out further and make plays.

it's NOT a foul. good no call.

I believe if you are the primary defender (not help) you can take a charge in the restricted area. The restricted area is for help defenders only.
Also..for the "experts" who say Duncan has lost a step...need to watch him in the playoffs.
SIGH.

yeah. i just meant on a play like that.
and the intent of the rule is to keep people from standing directly under the basket and undercutting people. the simplest(and smart) thing to do would be to get rid of secondary defenders taking charges all together. its stupid to allow them to do so and it takes away from the game.
