I don't believe he should be taking 15 shots. Especially with some of the shots he threw up tonight.

I think we just have to be aware that our guys are trying to step up and force the issue because (by far) our best player is out. Kidd isn't having his greatest shooting year ever, but he doesn't normally shoot 33%. Trying to fill the massive void Dirk leaves in his wake explains both the number of shots and the relatively poor percentage.
You don't get a trip-doub without really playing your heart out, though. That's really the point. Kidd was a warrior out there tonight, poor shooting or not. He tried to will the team to victory without its star. I admire that, personally.

This.
Dirk makes the game easier for everyone around him simply by drawing so much attention. Double teams, even triple teams, happen all the time and allow guys like Jet, Kidd, Tyson, Marion and Butler to take (relatively) easy shots. As soon as Dirk is out, that advantage is gone and easy shots happen much less frequently. Therefore, it's no surprise that some of our players are struggling with their shot in Dirk's absence.
As far as Kidd is concerned, he's put in a position that he doesn't really feel comfortable with. He's never been a great shooter and doesn't want to take 15 mostly contested shots per game. As a leader of this team, he probably thinks that he has to take the responsibility and make something happen with Dirk out. That can lead to a poor shooting night.
However, his overall game was top-notch. His will to win, effort and leadership were amazing. At 37 years old, he looked like the guy who tried the hardest and wanted it the most. Pretty admirable.

He's the best all around player that ever got in trouble for gun possession. So he's got that going for him.

Das ist ein Guter Post. Wirklich! I am in total agreement with your post. In fact I was going to say pretty much the same thing. Thanks you saved me the trouble. Now some of the non English speakers can make fun of me for my incorrect spelling and grammer.

Yea and I stand by that comment. I never saw your reply to it so who exactly in your eyes was the best Magic all around player?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Dwight Howard.

But the guy can't score from outside of 10 feet and is one dimensional offensively. He literally has one move to score.

First of all, not true. Second of all, it's not like Arenas scores on post-ups.
