It'll be a long time until the pre season starts. I look forward to all the off season gossip! If worse comes to worse Dirk will demand a trade...

I would congratulate the Nuggets if they had sent better trolls.

That's the thing, we'll never know. Who knows what could've happened. If the Mavs could've held home court and we made it to a game 7, anything can happen.
But, it wasn't meant to be. The Nuggets were indeed the better team. Hats off to them.

I always will root for the front of the jersey, but the day Dirk doesn't don a Mavericks jersey is the day my MFFL card loses the "L" and becomes a question mark. MFF?

2-7.
after a start like that, i really never ever expected this from our Mavs. i am extremely proud of our team. i kno, there was 2006, and that grueling 7 game series with the spurts. but tonight, we actually never backed down. midway thru the 4th, i thought we would have a chance, and i never thought that would be the case.
dirk is forever engrained in my mind as one of the greatest players of our time, straight up.
i can't say too much more, because i have been crying too much. no matter what, its still the end of the season, and we didn't get the "ultimate" goal, but we DAMN WELL surpassed nearly everyone's expectations.
END-OF-THE-YEAR-REP for everyone. I LOVE YOU ALL. GOD BLESS AND GOODNIGHT...
til that next GDT...
GO MAVS!!!

I couldn't disagree with you more. I don't see any way the Lakers can beat the Nuggets. That is a very, very, VERY good basketball team, which is playing its best basketball right now. They simply do not have a weakness.

Well, the NBA got their storyline that they've been driving home during every broadcast. I feel like I know the entire playoff history of the Nuggets now after being constantly reminded every game how they hadn't been to the WCF in 24 years. And then we'll get Kobe vs. Lebron and a whole ton of bits in the Finals trying to see who is more like Jordan. I actually feel quite content knowing I won't be watching any of it, or any future NBA game.
The NBA, where predictability happens!

Afraid that I see logic in this. The Mavs look like a team on the decline & Dirk is the only thing that makes that slide slower. I don't know what his contract situation is but I could see Dirk pulling a KG and trying to get traded to a team that has more upside. He's in his 30's now & the Mavs don't look to get rapidly better in the short term.

The Lakers' problem is complacency. They have a ton of talent and a good/great bench.
We had the Lakers problem during the regular season, we clearly didn't have the safety net of talent that they have.

It will depend entirely on which version of the rulebook the refs decided to use. But they tend to change that on a whim.
Kobe sells a lot of jerseys, so I doubt they'll be able to do to him what they did to Dirk. And Dirk still got over 30 a game.

Congrats to the nuggets. The most controlled and impressive performance I've seen out of them. Won with class and were the better team.
Not to wax anything...But it seemed like that team grew up and were pretty serious tonight.
Good luck against (I assume the lakers). Go get 'em.

Great series Dallas. Dirk is amazing, Howard is legit and Bass has a lot of promise.
Lesser teams would have folded under that pressure but your team showed a lot of heart.

They're a little short on the fron tline. The Lakers are better equipped to exploit that than we are. But yea, they're definitely peaking at the right time.
Also, we're not very good defensively. They probably won't score as easily against the Lakers.

Just as I predicted, we lost tonight. I'm so tired of being a "good" team yet I always see the mavs going on vacation early. When are we going to get some really tough in the pain players? Jump shooting has got us no where! I hate to be so down on my mavs but we need to revamp this team or keep getting use to losing every playoff series. So i will be patient and see what happens this offseason, maybe mark will finally understand what it is we're lacking

Yeah, but they aren't just impotent on the front line, as our teams have been on occasion over the last several years, and they still have gunners who make seemingly impossible shots seem routine. They look to me like Golden State on steroids.
One thing is for sure: you are going to have to bring your A game, every game, if you are going to beat Denver out of these playoffs. I am nowhere near convinced that LA can do that.

Thank Sweet Christ for recordable television.
I feel bad for Dirk and Bass for having to see the last three minutes of that 4th.

I'll tell you how the Lakers can beat them. They have much better length and athleticism than the Mavs. Kobe will make Carmelo work much harder than the Mavs did and those threes are not going to fall as easily. JR Smith will not be getting wide open shots as often. The layup drill is not going to be available like it was with the Mavs. Nene will not dominate Bynum and Gasol like he did Dampier.
I think it will be very close, and will be one of the best WCF in years, should be amazing to watch.

Golden State is a good comparison but I'm still not sold on them. I think they got a great draw (earned) the perfect draw. Take out the four head to head meetings and they had the same record against the rest of the league as we did.
I also don't like the fact that their defense seems to be so dependent on steals and blocks as opposed to making the opponent take a lot of tough shots.
I'll admit that I could be selling the. short. They're certainly not the same team they were 3 or 4 months ago.

Ok here's one thing, and I don't want to seem like a whiner. I was checking out Dirk's stats in the 2nd Round vs the Nuggets. I had always thought Dirk averaged around 28 and 10 during that series but when I checked it out Dirk averaged 34 Points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 92 percent from the charity stripe, and 53% from the field! I mean, I watched the whole series and I knew Dirk was doing very well but I probably didn't realize how much Dirk was torching the Nuggets. That was probably because we didn't look very good while we were playing them.
The real question is what would Dirk have averaged in that series if he had actually gotten calls?

I remember nuggets fans throwing K-MART as the Dirk stopper before the beginning of the series, I actually believed that K-MART should give Dirk the fits, but after the first game I was sure that Dirk will not be stop.....too bad that our 2nd-3rd and 4th option did not played well or in the case of Josh hurt.
Dirk is a unique offensive player that will probably comes one in a lifetime.
