Lets get this thread back on track. Dirk is growing his hair back out, and like Samson, his power gets greater with every new inch. He's been waiting to bring it home to unleash his fury. I'm almost sad to go to the game tonight because I know that nothing else in my life will compare to the explosion that will be Dirk Nowitzki.

I don't know if these were really the same possession, but . . .
Takes the elbow to the chin
Then gets the clean block

.
Conclusion: Obviously soft as warm European butter.

You forgot to add the pic where Immediately Duncan flails his arms, shouts at the refs for a phantom call because he is Tim Duncan the ass titty.

Dirk has been playing like a savvy vet this series. He is not forcing the issue nor is he trying to do too much. At this time, his team is winning so there really isn't a dire need to beat a triple team. Once teams decide that they want to stop the supporting cast, watch Dirk become unleashed.

I think the only thing I'd like to say after the events of today is this:
I love you Dirk. You are awesome. If you ever wanna totally gay out, give me a call.

I don't know. With so much negativity everywhere, what else can you say?
We've got like 12 guys that suck huge penis out there, and then there's Dirk. He alone cares.

I gotta say, that was the most inspiring performance I've ever seen last night. Dirk wasn't going to let the Mavs lose. Josh was in extreme pain, but hung in there and contributed.

Dirk's playoff PER is 28.30, only behind Lebron and Parker. Probably passed Parker after tonight.
After tonight, Dirk's playoff averages this season were:
27/10/3, 52%/93% (FG&FT) All that on only 17 FGA.
9.3 FTA per game.
Dirk is second in playoff ft's made per game behind only Lebron.

Awesome offensive playoff performance. The will to win wasn't enough to get the other players to carry their weight but it was awesome to watch how much he didn't want to lose.

Interesting little item on folks handling stress. This guy worked with Chris Kaman and discovered that he wasn't exactly ADHD...something different. To be honest I couldn't understand it. Anyway the gist of the Dirkster link is that well..
Dirk just isn't like the rest of us.
http://www.mlive.com/golf/index.ssf/...uccess_wi.html
Quote:
Kaman has found help with the psychological treatment program involving neurofeedback and biofeedback. He was misdiagnosed with attention deficit disorder as a toddler, but Tim Royer and Brad Oostindie of Hope 139 determined Kaman's problem was opposite in that his brain waves ran too fast.
.....
Royer in the past year connected NBA star Dirk Nowitzki and golf great Annika Sorenstam to his computer. He also has worked extensively with another Vandenberg student, LPGA Tour player Tracy Hanson, who now is introducing the product to other golfers.
"We found some people, like Dirk Nowitzki and Annika, are already genetically wired very well," Royer said.
"Some people are wired better genetically, and they control their brain and emotions better. Others, like Andy, we can help get there, and Tracy feels it's the goose that laid the golden egg, the thing she has been looking for years in her golf game. Talent and athletic ability only get you so far."

Too bad that's not enough to convince Mark Cuban to get some real players around Dirk...

|
This hits literally closer to home than most of you know. Some of the dislike for Dirk was fanned from within the team itself. I remember watching the Mavs when Dirk and Steve began to play well and gradually became the face of the francise. This was not taken well by a certain player who began to poison other players. After Nash left there were times when it seem the only time Dirk was not being frozen out was when he was playing with the rookies or Stack. Remember when the year before He won the MVP and he was in the conversation for MVP and one of his own teammates said that he didn't deserve it. Who ever heard of a teammate making such a statement. This same teammate once the real instigator was gone became Dirks biggest supporter and on court partner. That instigator had also earlier spoke against Dirk to the media for calling out Damp during the playoffs. This helped validate the anti-Dirk media attack led by Peasent Charles ( he is no Sir to me).
They finally got rid of the snake who poisoned others against Dirk and his name was Finley. And it was all caused by jealousy and envy. Before Dirk and Nash arrived he was the only Allstar. Then he was aced out because the team didn't warrent three Allstars. It was totally his team before Dirk arrived. Dirk is very neive as evidenced by his personal relationships. He doesn't know when some one is stabbing him in the back so he doesn't defend himself. This makes him an easy mark.

There were some other posters who suggested that the anti- Dirk feelings in the media were race based. It seems to me that an over whelming majority of the whites in the media are the ones that are Dirk detractors. So as strange as this may sound it is motivated by race. Those individuals do not want to appear to be racist so they overcompensate. The are just trying to curry favor within the black basketball community by showing how hip they are. What better way to do this than to diss the goofy white guy.

Just to clarify, I didn't see him and I'm just going based on one poster's word (which I'm too lazy to go dig up), but I'm pretty sure the word "fat" was used. Which, knowing Dirk, I kind of doubt, and even if he's put on a little weight, I don't think there's anyone that expects him to be in anything but peak condition when training camp starts.
