Classic Threads or "HOF" Threads
Is it possible for us to "retire" some classic threads into a single, locked forum where the newbies can read so they know of some of the history of this site? I can think of many threads that would qualify. Maybe the mods can pick 10 threads every 6 months and the posters can vote 2 or 3 in or something.
It would be an interesting concept and it would be nice to have easy access to some past glorious threads.

^ yeah when we first started talking about a classic forum I saved that thread into the Mod lounge. Whatever happened to stickman I didn't want to happen to that thread of comedy. So it's just waiting on when/if we ever get a classic forum.

is this what happened to the is it wrong to date your best friends little sister thread? I have been listening to old music for the last day and a half and while searching for something else on this site, i saw that thread and decided to re-read it. It was pretty much gold. I was an idiot but it was still gold.

For the list of threads we have thus far deemed classic. And please, don't go around adding the "classic threads" tag to threads that aren't approved.
We would happily discuss any additional nominations in this thread.

There are some REALLY entertaining reads in that. Especially some of the stuff with silk/credit. You have to sift through some crap, but there is real gold.

Have I ever mentioned that I was one of Doc Bio's grad students during that project?
(must have slipped my mind...)

lol. All of his grad students must have been staying at his house during that project.... or posting from his house. So did you have fun at his house and were YOU the one that popped his Christmas snow globe?

Actually, he chained us up in his basement and made us slave over D-M.com 24/7 (ahhh, the things we did for a higher education!)

I can't believe Silk lasted as long as he did after the "break the bank" thread. I miss his tenacity.

I just started venturing to the Lounge lately. I rare;y post in other forums besides the General Mavs area. I missed this whole thread. I am just now reading it. After reading it I am like Kevin Bacon from Tremors:
"What the hell is going on? I mean what the hell is going on?!
And man... I thought I was the forum wacko on this board... reading that thread makes me feel a lot more sane.

Is the Lance Armstrong steroids thread really worthy of being a classic? So everyone throughout the history of d-m.com will get to see exactly how and why I was banned?

We've had alot of amazing threads over the years. I'd like to have more of the long time members weigh in. But I must say that there have been tremendous debates on this forum that many of the newer guys will never realize even existed. Things over the past 3-4 years are insanely tame in comparison to what this site was like 5+ years ago or so. This place was almost daily huge debates and/or fights.. Heck, there was constant threats of bodily harm to one another.. let's just say that the mods back then would allow much more back then than they do today. Back then, it was pretty much up to the members to police the site.. And that made for one hell of a show.

some almost interesting stuff...no doubt some folks take these things a bit too seriously. Most of it is people being fluffy to blow off steam...but hey, it is entertaining and free...so what the heck.
Merry Christmas to all of the D-M gang...this place is a great way to time waste.
