I find my tv time is limited these days, and History Channel HD kind of falls off my radar
I have heard a lot of those radio commercials about that, though. Is it any good?

Has it been mentioned here yet that Lost is moving to Tuesdays at 8 (CST)?

Probably not. I'm cool with it. My Tuesday's are pretty wide open as far as tv goes. Besides V, which won't be back after tonight until March.

I can't wait for Chuck to return in January. God, the promos are making it look so awesome. I'm really glad it got picked up for those extra 7. That has to be a good sign about NBC's thoughts on hte quality of the season.

Do you have a DVR? If not, invest in one. I recently purchased a TIVO HD with a 1 TB external hard drive and it's amazing. I never miss any of my shows anymore. I never miss any Mavs games when at work, etc. I always set my favorite series for season pass so I never miss an episode. etc..
I've found it tougher to watch tv also. But a good dvr remedies that problem.

One show that I'm completely addicted to now is Hell's Kitchen. I know it's not even airing right now, but I've been catching up on all the seasons via Youtube, and Gordon Ramsey is the nastiest son of bitch alive. I've never been a big fan of reality shows, or cooking shows.. but that one's a winner.

I watched the first 4 episodes of V recently...
All I could think about was lizard penises in human vaginas and human penises in lizard vaginas...

..so, what do you think of V? I'm not so sure about it.. Another great idea that probably won't be executed all that well. So far, it's pretty good though.

I think it's been pretty strong up to this point. But like anything that is dealing with this kind of scale, it could go south very quickly.
The long break isn't going to help their momentum either.

I enjoyed the 4 episodes, but like thig said, it's likely going to get buried when the the tv schedule gets inundated with things returning post-olympics.
I think Lost and 24 are going to run during the Olympics. I'm curious what else will.
Also, Chuck is coming back in January, right?

Yep, shows such as V always start fast and fade..some die a quick death..others slowly. Every once in awhile, a show will actually turn it back around. I love Lost. But, I do think it lost it's direction a time or two. It has obviously re-found its stride.

Seems like nearly everyone has listed the shows that they do like...so how many are willing to provide a list of shows that they don't like?

Dexter is crazy. The writers of that show are just top notch, how all these tragic elements seem to come together at the end of each season.
Season 4 might have been the best yet. Season 1 is its only true competition for me.

Shows that I don't like?
Entourage
The Sopranos
Seinfeld
Friends
uhmm... I usually stick with something once I start watching it.
I did kick Fringe and Heroes to the curb although I did like Fringe (just didn't have enough time for it).

Seinfeld
Two and a Half Men
Desperate Housewives
John and Kate Plus 8 (which is thankfully not on anymore, I'm ashamed just to write that show in....the guy looks like the creatures in Avatar)
I'm sure I'll think of more.

Cool replies:
For me...as far as I can remember at the moment:
Dexter
Pushing up Daisies
The Office
The Simpsons
Family Guy
Desparate Housewives
Reality Shows...
I'm not too big into the HBO, Showtime type of shows...
Funny part, is that some of the folks up at our Church are big into the Simpsons and actually use them as references in sermons...to me they are just a huge beatdown...

Popular shows that I don't watch:
Chuck: Surprised by this one since it's a board favorite and I'm usually in agreement with the consensus here. I just didn't like the character Chuck. It’s still in my Netfilx queue and I may revisit if I run out of shows to watch
24: I watched for a while but after 2.5 seasons I couldn't take it anymore. 24 is too many episodes for a show works by creating and maintaining tension. The plot twist got too ridiculous
Mad Men: Another show I watched for a season and a half. Don't dislike it but I never felt the urge to watch the next episode. Works as a period piece but I don't think the plot lines are very compelling

I watched the first five episodes of Mad Men and I can't ever imagine giving it another chance.
24 - Never interested me at all.
30 Rock - Can't take Tracy Morgan.
Heroes - Great idea, great first season....and then it started being awful.
I can't find the motivation to watch anything that's animated.
Oh, and anyone saying they don't like The Wire gets an immediate ban from me. Don't test me.

I think the issue here is that you're not a nerd, in any way. At least I've never gotten that impression from your postings.

Wow...I'm sorry
Those are my favorites. Although FG has some shitty episodes. Especially lately.
If I had to rank my favs:
Dexter
Office
Lost
Simpsons
FG
24 (which I watch as a comedy sometimes.
I use to love Malcom and King of the Hill, but those obviously are gone.
As of recent shows I don't like, V comes to mind.
I watched the first episode and just let out a slow "......what.........the............f*ck...." through the whole show. And not in a good way.
Never watched it again.

So far this week...I've watched NCIS, NCIS LA, Bones, the Closer...and a new show that I think I will stop watching quickly. "Men of a certain age" - it is very slow moving, more of a soap opera than a show. I'll try it for one or two more episodes...but so far, looks like a thumbs down show.
It's all DVR stuff...dang, I just realized, I'm watching less TV lately...oh wait, that's right, I've been watching Stars/Mavs games...not to mention that other team from Arlington...

I watched only half of the two hours dollhouse tonight.
I think, honestly, that the story telling has accelerated to such a ridiculous pace, that it's making the whole thing look hokey. This is most likely the "oh sh!t we're about to be canceled" involvement at work here.
That being said, I have really, really, really enjoyed season two so far, and I can't wait to finish that episode tomorrow.

I've got to say that Friday Night Lights has been tremendous this year. If you haven't watched this show, you need to check it out.

Other than the reality shows, I generally don't dislike shows. But some just aren't interesting to me at all so when it is like I that I just don't watch them.
Chuck
Heroes
Fringe
Office
24
Lost
(any "soapy" drama a la Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Private Practice, etc)

I just want everyone to know that while I do consider it silly, absurd, and not especially worthy of conversation...
I will be watching 24 season. In fact, I (nearly) eagerly await it's return.
And Chuck.
And mostly LOST.

I'm finding it difficult to get excited for 24 for some reason. I'm sure that will change once Jack starts to kick some butt again.

I know some of you watch Dexter.... thanks to an unexpected Christmas gift I got to see S1. I am done now and see that there are actually 3 other seasons. I have seen that S4 is pretty good, but what about the others? Are the other seasons like the first where there is a main story arc that gets answered totally? Or do I need to watch the rest of the seasons to catch up?
Also, if you know, how soon after season finales does showtime get their DVDs released?
Thanks much in advance.

There is a resolved plot in each season, but there is also the overall story arch of Dexter's exploration of his inner self, who he is, and what he wants out of life. I would stay in order, if possible.
Also, in terms of quality, I thought season two kinda sucked, season three was an improvement, and season 4 was quite strong. But you'd really have to watch 2 and 3 in order to properly appreciate the events that unfold in 4.

I will be watching. I got that movie they released last year. It was okay, I guess.... not much to tie back to BSG but some of they plot lines seemed interesting, like **SPOILER (highlight) ** terrorist children, virtual reality internet to an extreme level.
It was enough to give it a shot.
