Very disappointed that it ended up being the Rays because of the stupid afternoon games.
I wait 11 years for Rangers playoff baseball and the first two games will be over before I leave work.
I hate you MLB.

Why not just ask whether we'll win the series or not?

The first home game is Saturday at 4pm. Sucks because I was planning on a day at the Fair.

So what are we going to do about this 12:37pm start bs?
Stream the game at work? Or be honest with the boss and just leave at lunch?

Luckily my job is (right now) as a substitute teacher. I don't have to work any day I don't want to. I'll be fine.

Unfortunately I can't do either. This is the first time I regret switching jobs earlier this year.
I'll probably be going into media blackout and hoping I can make it home.

Got ya. I take the over. Way over. I think the Rangers win at least 6 games in this series before it's all said and done.
I dunno what I'm gonna do about watching this. I wish I had a slingbox right about now.

I was really hoping it was going to be the Yankees...the Rays pitching is incredible.
Regardless, it's great to see them back in the playoffs again after so long.

We have found a local sports bar with wi-fi, have moved or canceled the conflicting meetings, and that's where we'll be working Weds and Thurs afternoons.
Nothing gets in the way of Rangers playoff ball.

I've thought about it, but I'm doing consulting now and we have a hard deadline for this client and I already have to overcome five days of vacation to meet it. I just can't justify missing another two days.
Fortunately the two guys I share an office with seemed cool with listening to it on the radio, so I'll be able to follow it live.

Depending on who does the game, you might be better off just listening to it on the radio anyway. Most of the TBS announcers are terrible.

The Real Season has started and Texas wins the first one, on the road. NICE.

If I'm not mistaken, that was Ian Kinsler's 2-run homer followed by Mitch Moreland's double in the top of the 9th of Game 5 against the Rays. I knew those hits were hard, but not so hard that they knocked this fellow into the future!
Mak, I would hold off on reading about the World Series or the off-season so far.

Kinsler hit a double right after Cruz's HR in ALCS Game 6 with the same score...

If you were Cliff Lee, what would you do?
It sucks, but isn't it a foregone conclusion?... Perennial contenders, no hundred degree heat, big pile of money... It's not a tough decision.

If i had to pick between which team I thought would have more success over the next 4-5 years.. I'd definitely take the Rangers over the Yankees. The piles of money will be extremely comparable. After taxes, the pile of money in Texas will probably end up being larger. Also, he'd be closer to home here in Texas.. he definitely enjoyed being a member of the team.. His wife probably doesn't have alot of interest in him playing in NY. Honestly, about the only thing New York has to throw at him is the initial dollar amount before taxes. But, that could be enough.
