I'm on there, but I don't tweet. I just use it to get news, mostly.

Same here. Although I can't say that I really even read it much as it comes across as information overload at times.

I've never used Twitter myself. I'm wondering what the motivation is. If anything on Twitter makes news, doesn't it get broadcast quite reliably through the normal channels?

Occasionally I see news items on twitter I don't see anywhere else, but usually yes you're right. The difference is that stuff is often posted to twitter first. Guys like Stein will tweet a rumor or news item well before writing up an article for ESPN. It's much more rapid fire.
Also, twitter is great for getting a brief lay of the land for what's happening in ongoing games if I'm not watching. I'll pop onto twitter on my phone if I'm out one night and can quickly see in ~30 seconds what's going on in the games, whether there have been any injuries or other noteworthy occurrences, who's playing well, etc.

I do the same thing. Twitter is like a news feed for me. I also tweet during games just for the heck of it. It's a lot easier to talk through the Twitter app on my phone than to sit there and hit refresh in the GDT.

What, does your Twitter feed refresh automatically?

It refreshes, but the Twitter app is just easier to use on my phone than logging onto d-m.com.

I'm on as well (you can guess my name). I normally just use for news, follow some funny people, etc.
it is GREAT for fantasy football (actives/inactives/last minute suggestions, etc.)
I post some really funny stuff, too... ok, well, i would, if i had any followers.

Twitter is huge for me during games and for breaking news first. It also fills the void of not having ANY idea what's going on with a player injury or other locker-room vicinity situation when you're actually at the game.
It can be a lot of info, but the key is to be judicious with who you follow.

You should go ahead and skim through who I follow. I have a lot of Mavs related stuff and bloggers/beat writers and such. News on my time line gets out so fast, if it's not someone I follow, someone I follow will retweet it.

haha no, I don't live near Dallas so the info would do me no stalking good. Just hilarious to think about Marion driving to costco after practice for some reason.

Not to worry. As spring comes the re-tweeting will bring you many followers. NBA and NHL suffer from same affliction...large percentage of people only interested when playoffs come around.

I used to have twitter but deleted it because I never really used it. But the only "significant" person I had following me was Teresa Guidice from The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Don't hate, I love that show haha.
Oh and I got a happy birthday tweet once from Shawn Marion. That was awesome.
