The only person I can think of that might "wake up" is Pau, but his reason for seeming "asleep" isn't that he's so confident that they'll win when they want to. It's because he's as soft as fresh dog shit.
What will PROBABLY happen tonight is that Bynum will play a lot better. But I don't think Kidd and Marion will be as horrendous as game 1 either.
Dirk is still the best player in the series and I don't think tonight will be as easy as you think. The great thing for Mavs fans is that it doesn't have to be. We already did what we had to.
Also, there are a couple big differences between game 1 against the Hornets and game 1 against the Mavs. First of all the Mavs are a lot better than the Hornets, so it's conceivable that the Lakers didn't really give a shit. They should, and do, give a shit about the Mavs. The other difference is that the Hornets led most of the game and it did really seem like the Lakers didnt care. In this game, the Mavs gave all the momentum away at the end of the 2nd and ended up being down by 16 in the 2nd half. If you don't think the Lakers wanted that game, you're kidding yourself.

I agree with all of your post except the part about Pau. I don't think he's soft. I think he's underutilized and like alot of big guys thrives when he's more involved.

What can be done about Pau's interior passing to Bynum? I saw it happen a couple times game 1. I remember Haywood trying to play the pick and roll but he went out too far they passed to Pau in the post and he gave a no look to a rolling Bynum.

This happens all the time and most likely won't change in this series.

if we don't win tonight it won't be because of anything the lakers do, it'll be because of something the mavs don't do. the guys might get complacent with a split and not treat this game with the same urgency as game 1. if they get down 16 this time, they might rest up.

I don't go for that one game stuff. Last night OKC pushed Gasol&Zach"best PF in the league"Randolph around. Game before that it was reversed. Coaches and players make adjustments throughout a series. Different officiating crews game to game.

It is more than 1 game, Landry had his way with Pau on both ends. The Laker who is underutilized is Bynum

I don't believe Gasol is soft per se. But he doesn't have that same "drive" as say Dirk does. That is why Gasol is good second option. He is too unselfish.
Dirk is a lot of times unselfish as well, and that would make him a goosd second option too. But if the Mavs have the ball down by 2 points, Dirk would want the ball in his hands. Pau, on the other hand, would not and probably find a way to pass it to someone.
Dirk is a legit first option who **could** be a second option. Pau is a legit second option who **can't** be a first option.

Haywood is a guaranteed 2 or 3 bonehead plays a game. Even in 10-15 mins. a night. They exposed him 2 straight possessions last game like that. Hate playing with guys like Haywood. Space cadet.

Oh and to steal a line from a good "terrible" movie:
He's worried! You cut him! You hurt him! You see? You see? He's not a machine, he's a man!
Mavs need to realize that the Lakers are vulnerable if the Mavs continue to play hard.

Local channels never broadcast beyond round one of the playoffs.

=\ Oh, I could of sworn TXA21's website had the times of the games on their website and the commentators on the last game of Mavs v Blazers said they were too.

Well I'm thinking we probably lose this, but I'm hoping we can pull off a shocker. Gonna be interesting to see how they call Chandler in this one. That might be the key to the game.
