Why did you make an entirely new thread just to link an article? You didn't even share an opinion...
This could have just as easily been posted in the Shawn Marion Appreciation Thread.

It's just an article, no discussion whatsoever.
And your face is gay.

I like it, Shawn has been a complete stud. We need more.

I was recently reading the last chapter of 7 seconds or less, which was talking about how broken down Marion was after the Mavs eliminated the Suns that year in the WCF. Guy straight up wants to win. Much respect, he has been HUGE so far.

Also, it will be cool after after we win the finals when these stupid new threads finally stop. At least until next year's finals, I mean.

If people can start threads with just a picture of someone clapping, then there's no good reason why this guy can't start a thread with just an article or link to an article.

I don't understand the argument you're trying to make here - are you implying that I think threads of people clapping are any less useless than this thread?

I'm with UD 99% of these new threads could have been posted in an already established thread. I'm sorry but, these threads are just clogging up the boards.
I do like the article though truthful stuff.

Glad to see I'm not the only one completely annoyed with a new thread popping up every 5 minutes.
It's making the board look cluttered.

No, they're really not "clogging" up the boards. The board isn't so busy that you can't find any thread easily enough.

I'll be honest, I'm all for more threads being opened. It gets to be somewhat of a pain to dig through super long threads to see if there is anything new that is of interest. I don't think that means people should start opening threads on what pair of underwear Dirk was wearing at the game last night, but I think this board tends to be much too conservative when it comes to the issue of new threads. A few more isn't going to hurt this board, and imo it would actually help it quite a bit so that I can better preview what's going to be inside.

New threads? Fine.
Threads that offer nothing more than what a basic Google search can give you? Worthless.
The issue isn't about quantity, it's about quality.

I've got no problem with additional threads, but the problem with making a thread about a relatively routine fluff article like this one is there are literally 3-5 of those published by various outlets every single day during the playoffs. Do they all deserve threads?

I thought the issue was having multiple threads on essentially the same topic.

Well, I think the key is that you need be discerning about what articles are threadworthy, and which aren't. I occasionally see some articles get buried in the 'appreciation' threads that I never got around to because I don't have the time to wade through those mammoth threads. Then when I finally read them, I kinda wish they had gotten brought to my attention earlier.
It just seems like we could make this process a little more efficient at times.
