D-M Fantasy Football 2011-2012
Now that Bryan will be too busy jet-setting around the country with the Mavs, I'm going to be assuming LM duties for the D-M league...
We MIGHT need a replacement owner or two and I was wondering if anybody was interested? I'm not sure what the availability will be yet, but it's a keeper league (up to 3 players), so any new owners would be taking over an already-established team... Don't bother joining if you're not interested in coming back for multiple seasons.
12-team PPR (start 3 WR's) on ESPN, other details (like draft date) still TBD by the league once it's established.
Feel free to PM me or reply in this thread. Like I said before, I'm not 100% sure how many positions will be available, so it might be a week or two before I can respond with a definitive answer - I'm just putting my feelers out at the moment...

That's a feature, not a bug. I promise I won't trade too much between the two teams to create a super team and avenge my embarrassing defeat at your hands.

Bump.
Looks like we definitely have one or two positions open for anyone who is interested...

Sorry, but you're a couple days too late - we already finalized the league...

Question: where do we find ESPN's auction values for our keepers? I remember there was an email explaining that the breakdown was $40/$30/$20 max for the 3 keepers and any keepers under that amount are discounted. Are we using the ESPN draft kit values or something else?

Just to recap, you only get to keep 3 players in the Spygate League:
$40 for the 1st.
$30 for the 2nd.
$20 for the 3rd.
If your keeper selections are valued at less than $40/$30/$20 by ESPN, then you use the ESPN-determined dollar value, whichever amount is less...
For example, if your keepers are valued at $60, $45 and $30 by ESPN, you'll only pay $40, $30 and $20... Or if they're valued at $60, $25, $25, you'll pay $40, $25, $20... Or if they're valued at $1, $1, $1, then you'll only have to pay $1, $1, $1 to retain them (sometimes keeping the most expensive player isn't necessarily the best value).
Maximum for 3 keepers - $90
Minimum for 3 keepers - $3
Auction values are always fluctuating, but they rarely change more than a dollar or two unless someone is injured, so there shouldn't be any significant change between the keeper deadline and the draft (and any players injured during that time can be exchanged for another keeper of equal or lesser value under our new Keeper Exception rule).
*To find current keeper values in our league, go to your Team Page and click "Edit Auction Draft List" to the right of your team pic - those are the values we'll be using for our keepers (and they really haven't changed much - most of these players still have the same value they had a month ago while the lockout was still in effect...)
Ignore the dollar amounts in the ESPN Draft Kit - those are 10-team standard league values (AP worth $59) whereas ours are 12-team PPR league values (AP worth $71).

Yeah, making the playoffs with a 6-7 record because nobody else in your division could muster up a win in the last 3 weeks of the regular season and then going on to win the Super Bowl is definitely grounds for flaunting...

That's a great name! Were you also the one who had Multiple Scoregasms?
I'm still rolling with LookUpGetUpGiveUp, and this year I added Deion'sDoRag in another league.

I'm going to be out of town for the drafts this Sunday. Bummer.
I was also out of town for my RL friends fantasy league. It's gonna be hard to stay emotionally invested this year.

Hey guys, need some fantasy advice.
Guy in my league is targeting either Joseph Addai or Mark Ingram on my team. My other RBs are Forte, Stephen Jackson, and Tate.
He says anyone on his roster is up for grabs - i need receiver help, especially cause austin may miss a few games. So i'm looking at either Dwayne Bowe or percy harvin on his team.
I'm leaning Ingram for Bowe. Bowe was a stud last year. yes, the chiefs are bad, but with Charles gone, they'll hopefully throw more. Harvin has to compete with AP for touches (and mcnabb looks awful).
So my question is - what would you do? Addai or Ingram for Bowe or harvin?
Thanks!

That's a steal for you, man! I'd do Ingram for Bowe in a heartbeat. Do it now!
Bowe is still an elite WR, even on that shitty KC team. Remember, he actually started slow last year too.
Addai is a little more valuable than Ingram IMO.

ok, so apparently he really wants addai. I'm fine Addai for Bowe as well. Thanks for the comment, Cad.

Generally, I would say that Addai for D-Bowe would be a steal. But I'd have to see your full roster, and also know if there were any funny settings in your league. Also, to know how deep your league is, to get a sense of who is on the waiver wire. (For example, Helu might be, and he could end up a better option than Addai after all.) And of course, PPR or no?
Like Cad, I would deal Ingram for Bowe as quick as I could hit the button. I know you love your Saints, but Sproles appears to be the lead dog there for the time being (in fantasy terms).
I'm guessing your league is pretty deep. That's another reason to angle for D-Bowe. He's got far more upside than what you can find on the waiver wire, I would imagine. At least you know they will be playing from behind all the time.

Old roommate's girlfriend has been using that name in our league for 3 years. You got preempted by a blonde, I'm sorry to say.

Top guy on waiver this week was decker, and I would take bowe over him for sure. Decker will only produce with lloyd and royal out, more than likely.
Ingram leads saints in carries (and yards, I believe), but he catches zero passes. My league is .5 ppr, so that does make addai a little more valuable. But ultimately, the guy pulled back on ingram and said he wanted addai.
My question was more about Bowe - if you thought he would keep up from 2010 even though the chiefs suck. I also learned he is in a contract year (after posting here), and that's a good thing most of the time.
Rest of my roster - if the accepted trade goes through (we start 2 RB, 3 WR (so wr are important), 1 flex):
QB: Romo, Ryan
RB: Forte, Steven Jackson, Tate, Ingram
WR: Andre Johnson, Austin, Bowe, Burleson, Lance Moore, Sims-Walker (was going to cut, but he had a nice game monday night)
TE: Daniels
K: Brown
DEF: Detroit
I also like my team name - Munchaking Box.

I think I would have to do the Addai deal, in that case. I would do it reluctantly, because I am holding out some hope that Addai just might return to productivity this year (I have him, too). They say he looks better than he has in a long time. And as for Bowe...well, I certainly wouldn't want to paint myself into a corner with him, because that situation in KC looks absolutely awful (at least for the time being)...but I think you just have to go with the upside. It has to get better, doesn't it? Bowe is too talented to stay that far down for long. And Cassell has proven that he can get Bowe the ball. I think Haley will get something figured out.
If I knew that I could flip a Sims-Walker or a Moore for a guy like Helu if I wanted to, I would definitely do the trade. It might effectively mean swapping your last receiver for D-Bowe (assuming you get similar production off the waiver to what Addai would have given you). You would do that all day, every day, right?
Is the Nelson kid from Buffalo on your waiver wire? I am high on him. I am high on that entire Buffalo offense, actually. I picked up Denarius Moore this week instead, just for the WR1 potential...but man, I had to think long and hard, choosing between the two.

Like Chum said, Nelson and Moore are great waiver options if they haven't been gobbled up yet (both got taken in my league). I actually picked up Decker after Week 1. I think he'll be productive even with Lloyd & Royal. The guy has real talent. He's big, but moves like a ballerina. IMO he has Wes Welker potential.
But I'd still do the trade, Addai for Bowe. Bowe is coming off a 100 yard week, and he'll only get better as the season progresses.

Poll question for you guys. Standard-scoring, 10-team, .5PPR league. Hopefully you are deep enough that either player would simply be rostered for upside. Maybe you start the player once, in a bye week, but he shouldn't be cracking your roster unless he breaks out.
Who do you take, Daniel Thomas or Denarius Moore?

It's close, but i'd go thomas. Bush showed in NO that he's simply not an everydown back, and it's looking like more of the same in Miami - so Thomas will be similar to Pierre Thomas (when he was good) in that respect.
Boss is supposed to be back this week, so that could take some targets away from Moore.

Hell, I didn't even know Boss was in Oakland. That's a good point. But then again, Moore did his damage in Week Two on only eight targets. Evidently he's more a home-run sort of threat than a Brandon Marshall type.
Speaking of targets, I saw that Miles got a sick 15 targets in Week Two. So did VJax and Maclin. Buffalo managed to get 14 to Stevie Johnson and 13 to David Nelson. Wow. Is this becoming a league that favors the WR over the RB? Especially in PPR formats? Early returns would seem to say so.
Bush's decline has been kinda sad to watch. How does that happen so quickly?
What I did was cut Thomas to add Moore. My feeling at the time was that this (Moore's line of 100 yards but relatively few fantasy points, thanks to no scores and what, maybe one catch?) might be about as good as it gets, routinely. I probably got sucked in by the hype on Moore...but hey, I'm a guy who likes to swing for the fences.
Of course, he got scooped up right away by a guy with little RB depth, and now I think I probably should have held on to him for a little while before just making the cut. But man...I just had to have that Denarius Moore.
Oh, well. We'll see!

as it always is with fantasy football - whatever decision you make, it's the wrong one.
