I haven't either, but it's hard to imagine him getting another chance this post season without a 3+ run lead.

Anybody watching Det NY? Watching Valverde walk a guy to bring the tying run to the plate, after giving up a homer and a triple, makes me feel a little less bothered by Neftali's walk last night.

He was good for sure, but he still gave up a HR in 7 innings. You lead the league in HRs when you average that - ask Colby (ugh, just got Wild Turkey-esque shivers thinking about Monday's potential given Tampa's HR prowess thus far).
Regardless, Go Rangers!

Vomit, a 1:00 start tomorrow. No way I can get off work for that. Gonna just have to listen to that one on the radio.

Yeah, not sure I can get off for today even... Already asked off once for a 4pm start.

Yep, I won't get to watch a second of the game live today..or tomorrow. Thank God for Tivo. It was definitely one of his greatest inventions.

I'm good for today, as I'll only be missing an hour of work I can make up later (I work full-time, but hourly... I can make up my own schedule of 40). Tomorrow, I guess it'll be radio. That's too bad, because my boss's boss's boss has mlb.tv, and I'm sure his door will be shut tomorrow...

Wow. Great baseball. Tense as hell for the last 9 outs. That's some October baseball there.
Also, playoff Colby is back in the house.

Great job by Feliz. Huge moment when Gonzalez came in and immediately quelched momentum with the three-pitch K.

Holy crap that was stressful. If that had been a World Series game I might have just died.
Awesome. Playoff baseball is so, so awesome. Excruciating, but awesome.

Feliz is such a beast. That guy is going to have a special career. I hope he stays a reliever.

I'd get that checked out, man.
So exhausted. We get to do it all again in 17 hours. Except Adams and Feliz might be unavailable. Time to come up big, Harry.

plenty of guys can start and do well. but having a guy who can come into the 8th and protect a 1 run lead on a reliable basis is an incredibly valuable thing to have. i wouldn't have felt near as comfortable if adams was the closer and feliz in the rotation.

You have it reversed. In actuality, plenty of guys can close and do well. New, good closers are discovered every year. #1 and #2 starters are the hardest commodities to find.
I'll be more than fine with Adams as our closer next year. That dude is awesome. Don't let last night shake your confidence in him.

Plenty of guys can start and do well? I think the Rangers circa 2007 disagree.
Bullpen guys come and go. You can build a bullpen fairly easily. Starters are infinite times more important.

Agree about Adams overall, but he sure gives up a lot of HRs too. Wish it wasn't all or nothing with some of our relievers. I know the stats wouldn't back this, but it often feels like with guys like Uehara, Gonzalez, O'Day and Adams they are more prone to giving up a HR than a single.
Feliz gave me that feeling as well previously but Mr. Cycle fixed a lot of that with his strong suggestion about using secondary pitches. Helps when you don't throw the same pitch in roughly the same spot. Even at 98MPH, that gets a little easy to swing your stick at.

This just shows you how good this Matt Moore kid is. Completely shut us down in OUR ballpark. And now we are teeing off on their other stud rookie.

How close was that collision to being an out? Was Napoli hit before he had a chance to truly catch the ball and turn to tag the guy or did the guy just run him over after he was set for the collision?

yeah I think he was hit before he truly had possession. It got to his glove about a split second before the hit. If it was just a tiny bit earlier, he would have been able to hold on to it I'm sure.
btw, here is a stream. It is Stream 4 on this page: http://www.stream2watch.com/index.ph...&videoid=27210
